Kevin Owens Explains Attack On Cody Rhodes Following WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event WWE

Kevin Owens has explained his attack on Cody Rhodes following last weekend’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event show.

Owens and Rhodes main evented the show in their grudge match for the Undisputed WWE Championship, with Cody eventually scoring the victory after hitting a Cross Rhodes on Owens on a steel chair.

After the show went off the air, Owens ended up attacking Rhodes, dropping the American Nightmare with a Package Piledriver and leaving with the ‘Winged Eagle’ WWE Championship that Cody wore to the ring for the match.

Owens has been parading around as the ‘real’ WWE Champion in the days since, including an appearance at the Netflix premiere event at WWE Headquarters on Wednesday, where he covered up Cody’s photo on the wall of champions with his own.

On tonight’s episode of SmackDown, Owens appeared in a pre-tape with the Winged Eagle Championship, where he said that Cody, Nick Aldis, referees and WWE management were all responsible for the attack, before claiming that he has not yet ‘snapped’.

Owens is set to defend the Winged Eagle title as part of the upcoming WWE holiday live event tour.
