Following his match at Hell in a Cell, Kevin Owens has revealed that he will be taking some time away from WWE.
During last night’s pay-per-view, Sami Zayn defeated Kevin Ovens in singles action. Owens has since noted that he needs a break.
Thanking his fans, Owens stated that he will be back soon. Addressing his Hell in a Cell showing, Owens tweeted:
“I fought like hell. Now, I need a little break. I’ll be back soon. Thank you, guys.”
Hell in a Cell was the last WWE pay-per-view of the ThunderDome era. WWE returns to the road on July 16, ahead of Money in the Bank on July 18.
SummerSlam in August is reportedly set to be an “all hands on deck” show, with “a lot of surprises“. All being well, it would make sense for Owens to return ahead of The Biggest Party of the Summer.
During last night’s show, Bobby Lashley rolled up Drew McIntyre to retain the WWE Championship. MVP has defended the spot, addressing backlash over the Hell in a Cell main event.
