Kevin Owens Reveals Why WWE Stars Didn’t Send ROH Final Battle Videos

Kevin Owens has explained why he, and other WWE names, didn’t send ROH videos to air during the Final Battle event.

On the December 11 pay-per-view, the final show before the promotion’s hiatus, a number of stars, including AEW’s CM Punk, Hangman Page and Bryan Danielson, appeared in separate videos, reflecting on their time with ROH.

Appearing on the Les anti-pods de la lutte podcast, Owens shot down rumors that WWE didn’t let ROH alumni on the roster, such as Owens, Seth Rollins and Roderick Strong, send in their own videos.

Explaining that ROH didn’t contact any wrestlers from WWE, Owens said:

“Ring of Honor didn’t ask any wrestlers from WWE to do that, nor contacted anyone at WWE. I knew it was going to be their last show, but I didn’t think to send a video so they could play it at the show. I’ve watched it.

“I was at a WWE show, and I was watching it on my phone, so it was not something I simply ignored. I’ve read some people on the Internet saying that probably WWE didn’t let us do it, but that’s incorrect. It’s just ROH who didn’t ask us, and I bet that if they had, we could have done it, but that wasn’t the case.”

Owens, (Kevin Steen) is a former ROH World Champion, and held the ROH Tag Team Championship with El Generico (who might or might not be Sami Zayn).

Jonathan Gresham’s second defence of the ROH World Title since the promotion’s hiatus has been announced for an upcoming GCW event.
