Kofi Kingston has addressed Odyssey Jones being removed from WWE TV during an on-screen angle with The New Day.
On the August 5 edition of WWE Raw, Odyssey Jones emerged from nowhere to aid The New Day during their match with The Final Testament.
This began an angle on TV where Jones would align with Kingston and Woods, much to the latter’s discontent.
The angle was dropped suddenly however, when WWE learned of domestic violence allegations made against Jones.
As a result, his profile was removed from the company’s roster page, with no new updates on his status in WWE ever since.
Speaking in a new interview with the New York Post, Kingston was asked about Jones’ removal from TV, to which he said:
“One of the main lessons that I’ve learned is that you never know what tomorrow is going to bring with WWE. You always have to be ready to adjust at the drop of a hat.
“There have been times where we have known what’s going to happen at a Monday Night Raw for weeks and we work towards that, and then we get into the building, and then all of a sudden, we’re doing the exact opposite. And it’s your ability to adjust and roll with the punches that pulls you up. Nothing ever goes as planned.”
“So all that to say, you know, once Odyssey was out of the mix, we just had to figure out a way to pivot and keep the story going and keep on moving forward, because, as they say, the show must go on. And you figure out the best ways to adjust.”
After Jones’ removal from WWE TV, Woods and Kingston’s angle would continue, with tensions between the two continuing to flare as the weeks progress.
Despite this, a special New Day 10th anniversary edition of Raw is set to be coming at an unspecified date, as confirmed by Adam Pearce.
