Taking to Twitter, Monday Night Raw star Kofi Kingston has responded to a fan who asked to see the New Day take on Edge and Christian in a tag team match.
Kofi explained that he and Xavier Woods “had a plan” to work a match with Edge and Christian, but things changed with Edge won the Royal Rumble and Christian joined AEW.
Trust us, we (me and woods) had a plan, then @EdgeRatedR had to go and win the Rumble, and Christian… well, you know, lol
Kofi Kingston didn’t explicitly reveal what the plan he had for a match with Edge and Christian was, but this obviously cannot happen now with Christian Cage contracted to AEW.
It was announced last night on Raw, after Xavier Woods pinned Shelton Benjamin, that New Day will challenge Hurt Business for the Raw Tag Team Championship on next week’s go-home show before Fastlane.
