Kofi Kingston Shares Thoughts On The ‘Forbidden Door’ WWE

WWE SmackDown star Kofi Kingston has shared his thoughts on wrestling’s ‘forbidden door’.

Before it was the name of an AEW x NJPW crossover show, the term ‘forbidden door’ was often used when talking about a contracted wrestler appearing for another promotion.

Speaking on WWE Die Woche, Kofi brought up the topic of a potential ‘forbidden door’ outing, noting that there are a lot of non-WWE stars that he’d like to face off against.

When asked if he has anything left on his wrestling bucket list, Kingston said:

“Yeah, I mean there’s a lot, I think more so now. Well, you know, since Mickie James came to the Rumble right, the quote-on-quote ‘Forbidden Door’, that was never to be talked about, was opened.

“There’s a lot of different people from a lot of different promotions that are incredibly talented that I would love to mix it up with and have matches with for sure.”

Kingston also noted that he’d love to step into the ring with a number of top NXT names, including Carmelo Hayes, Bron Breakker, Trick Williams and Roderick Strong.

Mickie James returned to WWE for this year’s Royal Rumble match, notably appearing on WWE TV with the IMPACT Knockouts Championship.

In recent weeks, WWE has let their talent film video messages for IMPACT, and have featured AEW stars’ video messages on WWE Raw.

Kingston has also shared an update on Big E, who has been out of action recovering from a broken neck he suffered in March.
