Damian Priest and several other WWE stars have reacted to the departures of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day.

With WWE moving Kingston and Woods to the alumni section of its roster page, Fightful Select and Cory Hays of Bodyslam reported that both stars “mutually decided to part ways with WWE”.

A number of notable stars have taken to social media to react to these departures, including Damian Priest, who has shared love for Woods and Kingston.

Stating that the locker room is hurting today, Priest tweeted:

“Locker room hurts on this New Day. All love for Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston”

Bayley has also taken to Twitter to send a message to the departing stars, sharing photos of herself with the duo with the caption:

EVERYONES FAVORITE BOYZZZ

This comes after The Usos shared their own homage to their former rivals, following what many fans consider to be one of the best tag-team feuds in WWE history.

Big E has also posted on social media following his former New Day tag-team partners’ WWE exits, sharing fanart of his Kingston and Woods inspired by an iconic Spider-Man comic panel.

Kingston and Woods are far from the only stars to be finishing up with WWE, with JC Mateo and Tonga Loa also moved to the alumni WWE roster page on May 2.

These four exits come after the latest round of WWE cuts, with over 25 talents announced to be leaving the company since April 24.

Gavin O’Shea – who worked as a director of television production, and Senior Associate Producer for international television – also announced that he is “losing his job” after 25 years with WWE.

While all of these cuts and exits make way for younger talent and NXT mainstays to have the opportunity to flourish on the main roster, they have left a sour taste in the mouths of many fans. With a number of fan-favorites exiting the company, many have argued that it’s hard to get invested in current stars knowing that anyone could be on the chopping block.

While it is always sad to see people lose their jobs, the silver lining is that there are many routes to making a viable living outside of WWE in today’s pro-wrestling sphere, whether that be working independently, or signing with another major company.
