Wrestling veteran Konnan has revealed new details on his working relationship with Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks.
The Mexican wrestling legend and former nWo member has made several appearances on Dynamite in the last year and is well acquainted with the AEW EVPs from both their stints at AAA.
Speaking to Wrestling Inc, Konnan described what it is like to work with Omega and the Young Bucks and why he thought professionalism like theirs was rare, saying:
“Bro, the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, they’re not just professional, they go over and beyond being professional. That’s very hard to find nowadays.
“I’ve never had a problem with him. I’ve never heard him hating on anybody. I’ve never heard them say, ‘No, well you need to give me this,’ or, ‘I can’t lose clean,’ or, ‘I can’t lose to this guy.’ They’re always going to do what’s best for business.
“That’s why to me, when I hear that (they have issues with anyone), it’s almost like Rey Mysterio. Not because he is my boy, but because he’s just such a kind, gentle soul, or somebody like X-Pac. If I hear that you’ve got a problem with them, I know it’s not X-Pac, it’s more than likely you. That’s just the way it is.”
The former WCW star clearly couldn’t speak highly enough of the trio.
Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks are currently suspended from AEW following their alleged role in the backstage fallout that occurred after CM Punk’s comments during the AEW All Out Media Scrum.
After becoming the trio champions during All Out, they were subsequently stripped of their titles due to the events that allegedly transpired backstage.
As of writing, CM Punk, Ace Steel, Omega and the Bucks are still suspended while the investigation is ongoing.
Matt Jackson has now broken his silence on his suspension.
