AEW
An update has emerged on AEW star Konosuke Takeshita’s schedule, following Takeshita winning NJPW’s IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
Konosuke Takeshita is now NJPW’s top champion, after defeating Zack Sabre Jr for the gold at King of Pro Wrestling.
With Takeshita currently having prominent roles in both AEW and NJPW, the champion spoke about plans for his schedule during a media address on October 14.
Noting that he’s prepared to “move things around” to join NJPW for any tour he’s called for, but also noting that he intends to showcase the IWGP World Heavyweight Title outside of Japan, Takeshita said:
“I’m triple contracted, but not exclusive. We can move things around and I can be on any tour I’m called for, (but) there are people worldwide, not just Japan, that want to see the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.”
Konosuke Takeshita currently has deals with AEW, NJPW and DDT-Pro.
He last wrestled for AEW on the October 7 Dynamite episode, teaming with Kazuchika Okada to defeat AEW Tag Team Champions Bandido & Brody King in a title eliminator bout.
His most recent DDT-Pro match saw him and Yuki Ueno score a victory over Daisuke Sasaki & Dick Togo at the May 17 Dramatic Dreams event.
