Kota Ibushi AEW Return Match Confirmed AEW

Kota Ibushi made his AEW return after an absence of over a year, and his first match back has now been confirmed.

Ibushi was last seen in AEW action at the November 15, 2023, episode of Dynamite, teaming with Paul Wight and The Golden Jets (Chris Jericho & Kenny Omega) to defeat The Don Callis Family (Konosuke Takeshita, Kyle Fletcher & Powerhouse Hobbs).

With Ibushi having missed much of 2024 due to injury, his AEW return finally happened on the June 21 episode of Collision.

With Ibushi returning and standing up for Kenny Omega, who has been the target of the Don Callis family, the star’s first match back has been revealed.

Tony Khan shared the announcement on Twitter, revealing Ibushi will face Trent Beretta in a tweet that reads:

“After returning to AEW to stand up for @KennyOmegamanX against @TheDonCallis Family, The Golden Star Kota Ibushi will fight vs @rainmakerXokada’s friend RPG Vice Trent Beretta”

The match is set for this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite and will mark the first time Beretta and Ibushi have had a singles match.

Previously, the pair had shared the ring in tag matches over in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, with their last encounter taking place in November 2018.
