AEW star Kota Ibushi has reacted to MJF and Kenny Omega’s world championship main event at Dynasty.

The AEW World Championship was on the line during the final match of the April 12 pay-per-view, with MJF defending against Kenny Omega.

The match was spiritually linked to Kota Ibushi in several ways, with Omega at one point paying tribute by hitting Ibushi’s Triangle Moonsault, and MJF becoming the second person ever after Ibushi to kick out of a One Winged Angel delivered by Omega.

Kota Ibushi has taken to Instagram to comment on a video from the match shared by AEW.

Stating that Kenny Omega has given him courage and inspiration amid his injury rehab journey, Ibushi wrote:

I can’t be left behind either. You’ve given me courage. Thank you, Kenny.

I’ll do my best to step up towards the first stage of my comeback.

Ibushi suffered a broken femur during his match against Josh Alexander on the October 8, 2025 Collision Homecoming show.

He notably appeared at the January 4 Wrestle Kingdom 20 event, walking to the ring under his own power during Hiroshi Tanahashi’s retirement ceremony, alongside Omega.

A timeline for a potential return for Ibushi is currently unknown, however the Japanese star did reveal in February that he had a procedure to remove screws from his leg.

While MJF was able to kick out of a One Winged Angel at Dynasty, it came after a ref bump, with the crowd counting to 10 before the second referee had even reached the ring to start counting the pin.

Kota Ibushi still remains the only person to have a clean kick-out of a One Winged Angel delivered by Kenny Omega.

Kenny himself has technically kicked out of the move on several occasions – including from Adam Page at Full Gear 2021, Will Ospreay at Forbidden Door 2023 – Ibushi still stands as the only clean kick-out from the move delivered by its originator.

We will continue to provide updates on Kota Ibushi as they become available. We wish Ibushi a safe and healthy recovery.
