Kurt Angle Reveals AEW Star Was His Dream Opponent WWE

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has revealed that AEW star Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan) was one of his dream opponents.

Speaking on a recent edition of the The Kurt Angle Show, Angle recalled his time as the Raw general manager opposite Danielson as the SmackDown general manager ahead of Survivor Series 2017.

Noting that Danielson was always his #2 dream opponent, Angle said:

“Oh, yeah. Daniel Bryan, he’s one of my top three wrestlers that I wish I would have been able to face before I retired.

“You know, Bret Hart is one of them. Daniel Bryan’s the other.

“(As for another dream opponent), I’m leaving it open because there are so many other great talents.

“He’s actually my top two. He’s actually the second person behind Bret Hart that I always wanted to wrestle, but never could.”

Angle stepped away from the ring after wrestling Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35 in 2019.

At the same event, Bryan Danielson dropped the WWE Championship to Kofi Kingston in one of the most wholesome moments in WrestleMania history.

Bryan is currently signed to AEW. Angle previously noted that he turned down an offer to join the company, which you can read more about right here.
