WWE Legend Doesn’t Think It’s The Right Time For Rey Mysterio Hall of Fame Induction

WWE Legend Doesn’t Think It’s The Right Time For Rey Mysterio Hall of Fame Induction WWE

Kurt Angle has shared his honest views on Rey Mysterio being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2023.

Mysterio will be honored during this Friday’s (March 31) ceremony. The lucha libre legend is still an active competitor for WWE, and is set to be in action at WrestleMania 39.

Speaking on his Kurt Angle Show podcast, Angle argued that Mysterio’s induction is a tad premature.

Noting that he’s still pleased for his former rival, Angle said:

“I’m so happy for him. I’m surprised that, you know what, I’m not surprised they are not doing it when he retires.

“But, you know, I think Rey being inducted into the Hall of Fame this prematurely, I think he deserves it still; I just don’t think it’s the right time.

“I think he should get into the Hall of Fame after he retires. But that’s me, and I’m old school, and that’s how I think.

“You have to realize this kid’s been wrestling for thirty-something years. This Hall of Fame induction was definitely going to happen, whether they did it now or later.”

Angle was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017. He later returned to the ring before officially hanging his boots up for good after WrestleMania 35 in 2019.

At WrestleMania, Rey Mysterio will face off against his son Dominik Mysterio.

There had previously been discussions about Mysterio potentially retiring at WrestleMania, which you can read more about right here.
