Kurt Angle Sends Message To WWE Name After Landing New Role

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle sent a message of congratulations to a WWE name after he started his new role on TV earlier this week.

Following Ava’s WWE departure during Royal Rumble 2026 weekend, Shawn Michaels announced during the February 3 episode of NXT that Robert Stone would be taking on the vacant NXT General Manager role on an interim basis going forward.

With Stone recently reflecting on his 26-year journey to land the role he’s now in, one name from his past has offered congratulations to the new figurehead of NXT.

In a video shared by Stone on Twitter, Kurt Angle sent kind words to his former TNA colleague and reflected on his own history in the GM role of Raw and SmackDown.

Angle said:

“Hey Robert, I want to congratulate you on being the new interim GM of NXT.

“Me being the former GM or Raw and SmackDown, I know what it takes to get the job done and I want you to kick ass and take names.

“Oh it’s true, it’s damn true.”

Angle and Stone (fka Robbie E) shared the ring with each other a handful of times throughout their shared time in TNA Wrestling, with perhaps their most notable match being a Lethal Lockdown match at TNA Hardcore Justice 2013 – where Angle led a team consisting of himself, Samoa Joe, James Storm and Abyss to victory against Bobby Roode, Jessie Godderz, Magnus and Robbie E.
