Kurt Angle Recalls Wrestling Vince McMahon On International Flight

Kurt Angle has recalled wrestling Vince McMahon on an international flight, explaining why the WWE Chairman was up for the challenge.

On a flight back from the UK in 2002, Vince McMahon and Kurt Angle had an impromptu wrestling match in the plane aisle.

Speaking with Fightful, Angle recalled McMahon being eager to throw down with the Olympic gold medallist. Stating that McMahon was up for trying anything once, Angle said:

“That was the only time. No, Vince will only try once. If he doesn’t succeed, he’s not gonna try again. Vince is one of those guys that wants to feel what it’s like to be up against an Olympic gold medallist or a World Champion boxer. He wants to feel that knock out. He wants to feel getting slammed.

“He’s crazy. The guy always tests himself. He wants to test himself against the best. If Mike Tyson was there, Vince would say, ‘Hey, let’s go one round,’ and Vince would do it. He really would. He would want to know how it feels to get knocked out by Mike Tyson. That’s just how Vince is.”

Angle retired from in-ring competition in 2019 after his WrestleMania 35 match with Baron Corbin. Angle has revealed that he has received offers from both AEW and IMPACT to return to the ring.

In a separate interview, Angle revealed the one wrestling role he’d still consider offers for.
