NXT 2.0 has been a point of contention among wrestling fans since its rebrand, but Kyle O’Reilly believes there is a bigger issue at play.
Appearing on “The Sessions” with Renee Paquette, the former WWE star said he feels people coming into the new NXT don’t really love the business.
O’Reilly stated:
“I think people in wrestling are really rare in the sense that you really, really have to love it.
“I think that might be an underlying problem in this new NXT.”
O’Reilly continued on that he believes the new stars will make an impact, but just don’t have their hearts into the business, saying:
“There’s a lot of people coming in that I don’t think really have that true love for it. I’m sure they’ll do well, they’ll make a big splash, be a big star, and make a ton of money, but at the end of the day, if your heart isn’t really in it, I don’t know. It’s tough.”
NXT 2.0 has been able to successfully introduce new stars such as Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes.
However, many fans aren’t willing to invest in a show that is so different to its predecessor.
Kyle O’Reilly has found a new home in AEW alongside his former Undisputed Era members Adam Cole and Bobby Fish. He also just welcomed his first daughter with his wife.
