Kyle O’Reilly Hilariously Predicted WALTER’s Name Change To Gunther In 2019

Kyle O’Reilly may have added an adorable baby daughter to his family this week but way back in 2019, he showed off his future telling abilities on Twitter.

In anticipation of their bout at WWE World’s Collide which saw O’Reilly’s Undisputed Era taking on WALTER’s Imperium, responding to the WWE on Fox’s Twitter wish to see WALTER lay chops on him,  O’Reilly tweeted:

“Ha, that’s assuming between now and then GUNTHER doesn’t get distracted by a chocolate river, falls into said river and the Imperiumpa Loompas do some weird German dance number. Highly likely scenario.”
At the end of a match with Roderick Strong on NXT 2.0 on January 18, WALTER took to the mic to announce himself as the winner of the match, using the new name Gunther.
WWE had come under scrutiny earlier in the day as it was reported that they filed trademarks for the name “Gunther Stark” which history buffs online quickly noted that Günther Stark was the name of a Nazi military commander in World War II.
O’Reilly left WWE after the expiration of his contract in late 2021, shortly thereafter joining his former Undisputed Era partners Bobby Fish and Adam Cole in AEW.
