AEW’s Kylie Rae has been absent since Double or Nothing, and Dave Meltzer has provided an update on her status in the latest Wrestling Observer.
“Kylie Rae has been out of action. The situation has been kept quiet but it is a medical issue and she is expected back soon.”
Rae debuted for AEW at the aforementioned Double or Nothing show in a four-way match that also included Nyla Rose, Awesome Kong, and winner Britt Baker.
She was initially set to face Brandi Rhodes at Fyter Fest but ended up being replaced by Allie.
Cross Body Pro Wrestling released a statement detailing that Rae had cancelled an upcoming booking:
Ladies and Gentleman,
I have the unfortunate responsibility to let everyone know that today, I received an e-mail from Kylie Rae informing me that she is no longer accepting any bookings.
This one left me confused, and heart broken, as I’ve put a lot of time and work into making this happen, and other All Elite Wrestling stars are making other dates in our area that same weekend. I was not given any reasoning other than what I’ve provided.
I can honestly say, that Kylie has been an absolute professional, and a sweetheart to deal with. I’m sure this whole process has been extremely confusing and exhausting for the talent. We wish Kylie absolute nothing but the best, and hope that one day we can eventually work together in the future!
I am truly, and deeply sorry to both Alexia Nicole and Krystal Moon, as well as our audience for this. The announcement of bringing her in was the most feedback we’ve ever received, I can not begin to apologize enough to our fans.
I will be announcing her replacement shortly, as thankfully, one has already been found.
Thank you,
Ben Ortmanns
