Lance Storm Reveals His Favourite Owen Hart Rib

Lance Storm has likely heard more than his fair share of Owen Hart stories. Thankfully for the rest of us, he has decided to share one of the best ones.

Owen was always known as one of the best pranksters in pro wrestling. One night in a tag team match against Lex Luger and Davey Boy Smith, Owen decided to have some fun at Luger’s expense.

Luger would be blown up and have to tag in Davey. Owen would then call a Press Slam for Davey and go up super light so Davey could do reps with him with easy, making Luger look weak.

“My favourite Owen rib story I’ve ever heard: When he was working against the Allied Powers (Luger & Davey) on Live Events, he would call a Press Slam for Luger and then go up super heavy and bad so Luger would struggle like crazy and barely get him up.

Luger would be blown up and have to tag in Davey. Owen would then call a Press Slam for Davey and go up super light so Davey could do reps with him with easy (ease), making Luger look weak.”

The recent episode of Dark Side of the Ring focused on the final days of Owen’s life. The feature provided plenty of insight from the perspective of Owen’s family. With stories like this, it is easy to see why Owen was as universally beloved as he was in the wrestling world.
