Wrestling Veteran Was Allegedly ‘Stoned’ During Hall Of Fame Speech WWE

WWE Hall of Fame speeches have a tendency to occasionally become rambling affairs with emotional inductees making the most of their moment.

One, in particular, received a shocking reception from ‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund in a story recounted by Kevin Nash.

Speaking on the Kliq This podcast, Nash recalled the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame, in which he would be inducted.

It wouldn’t be his own induction that received the negative reaction however, with Nash talking about Larry Zbyszko, saying:

” So it’s 2015 and [Mean] Gene’s next to me, and Zbyszko had gotten stoned before [the show began.]

“Larry had gotten stoned before he went out and did the Hall of Fame. Of course, you think in your mind ‘I’ll get stoned and I’ll be really entertaining.”

Nash went on to recall Okerlund’s review of Zbyszko’s speech following the show when the three were on a plane, saying:

“I’m in [Row] C. Gene is D and Larry is on the other side of Gene in the aisle.

“And he says ‘how did I do Gene?’ And he replies ‘it was the absolute drizzling sh*ts. The worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life Larry.’

“And Larry was waiting [for Gene to say something good about the speech] and he just turned back to me and was talking.”

WWE’s stance on the use of marijuana has reportedly softened over the years

A report from earlier in 2022 quotes a source claiming that WWE hasn’t suspended anyone for using it in “years”.
