Former NXT and current Smackdown star Lars Sullivan has had some extremely offensive homophobic, racist and sexist remarks he allegedly made on a bodybuilding forum in 2013 released.
Some fellow WWE stars have unsurprisingly taken issue with Sullivan’s comments, with Big E taking to Twitter to say that he and many others within the company are aware of Lars’ remarks. This was followed up by Kalisto who said that Lars “just needs to get out [his] way”.
Per WrestlingInc., Sullivan who is receiving somewhat of a mega push on the main roster since his debut the night after WrestleMania 35, released the following statement in response to his controversial comments resurfacing:
There is no excuse for the inappropriate remarks that I made years ago. They do not reflect my personal beliefs nor who I am today, and I apologize to anyone I offended.
Whilst, it is being reported that WWE has “no issue” with Lars’ comments and will not be punishing him as he has apologised, the company could be forced into reprimanding the big man if a large portion of the backstage locker room publicly voice their unhappiness with his comments and the lack of consequences.
