Last week WWE announced that NXT’s resident giant Lars Sullivan was being called up to the main roster, and that upon debuting he would receive a huge push.
But they might be forced to slam on the brakes after it was found that Sullivan had posted a number of rather distasteful things on a body building forum.
We won’t go into detail on every single post, but here is a brief outline of the sort of things he posted:
- Illegal Mexican immigrants just want to come to America to “get free stuff”
- That African Americans want “pity” for what their ancestors went through
- Claims that he “got with” Raw women’s champion Ronda Rousey
- Calling CM Punk a “prick” (WWE probably support this one)
- Calling ROH wrestlers “vanilla midgets”
- Calling Jeff Hardy a junkie with no wrestling ability
- Suggesting there is a “grey area” when it comes to rape and consent
- Saying Bobby Lashley is “clearly a steroid abuser”
- Making racist and homophobic comments
- Derogatory comments towards Stephanie McMahon
Despite having an account banned, RingSideNews report he made a second account almost immediately.
Bryan Alvarez discussed the issue on Wrestling Observer Radio, suggesting that Lars could be in real trouble if WWE take it seriously.
“Here’s the thing with this company everybody. Chyna is not in the WWE Hall Of Fame because the story they claim is somebody could put Chyna’s name in a Google and porn videos might come up, you can’t put her in the Hall Of Fame. Meanwhile Hulk Hogan not only went on a racist tirade but in the tape he said and I quote, ‘I’m a racist.’ Hogan has bee back. Hogan returned at Crown Jewel, okay.
“Sometimes when you do something prior to your WWE career if they find out about it they don’t hire you or if they hire you and they later find out about it you could get in big trouble.
“I don’t know where Lars Sullivan stands with WWE right now. I know that he’s been earmarked to be called up and I know that Vince McMahon just plans to go all the way, this guy’s gonna get the mega push, pal. So we’ll see.”
Alvarez went on to say that we’ll likely find out tonight how WWE are viewing the situation “because if there is no Lars Sullivan graphic on Raw he’s probably in trouble and if there is a Lars Sullivan graphic on Raw, he’s probably not in trouble.”
Time will tell what’s in store for Lars, but it’s probably a good idea not to do this sort of thing if you’re any kind of public figure.
