Lashley To Return At Wrestlemania?

Lashley To Return At Wrestlemania?

It’s been 10 years since we last saw Bobby Lashley in the WWE, but plans seem to be in place to bring back the former ECW Champion.

Speculation about Lashley’s return has been rife ever since he left Impact Wrestling on January 14 of this year.

Wrestling Observer‘s Dave Meltzer first reported that WWE was interested in bringing Lashley back a few months ago, with the early rumor suggesting he would be feuding with Brock Lesnar after Wrestlemania.

Brad Shepard of Bodyslam.net reported last month that Lashley had come to an agreement with WWE for a return and that a storyline was being prepared for him.

Although many have been sure that Lashley’s next career move would be a return to WWE, it’s never been clear what the plans for his return were, or what sort of role he would play.

Givemesport.com is now reporting, however, that Lashley will either be returning after the Wrestlemania 34 main event between (presumably) Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns or on the post-WrestleMania Raw.

If the former is true, it would suggest that Lashley would be heading straight into a WWE Universal Championship feud with the winner of that match… whoever that could be.

If it’s the latter, it’s less clear what the plans could be, but one would assume that Lashley’s contract, given the preferential treatment Lesnar has received over the past five years, would include a “must be in the main event” clause.

These latest reports have come from Bin Hamin on the Vince Russo Brand podcast. Hamin is not renowned for his accurate reporting of rumors, so be sure to take this story with a pinch of salt.

What do you think? Would you like to see Lashley returning to feud with the winner of the Wrestlemania main event? Let us know in the comments.
