Late Changes Made To This Week’s WWE Raw

Several changes were seemingly made to plans for Monday’s (January 31) episode of WWE Raw before the show went on the air.

Ahead of the episode, Fightful Select (subscription required) shared plans for scheduled matches. Per these notes, Dolph Ziggler was set to take on Montez Ford in singles action.

On the actual show, Angelo Dawkins, Montez Ford’s tag team partner, defeated Ziggler in just under five minutes. It has since been pointed out that Raw emanated from Ohio, Dawkins’ home-state.

Also on the show, the advertised scooter race between RK-Bro and Alpha Academy took place, with Riddle representing RK-Bro. Randy Orton didn’t feature in these segments, and wasn’t ringside for Riddle’s match with Otis.

This all comes after Randy Orton’s two minute stint in the men’s Royal Rumble match, following reports that he was set to be showcased in the 30-man bout. It is currently unclear why Orton wasn’t on Raw.

Conflicting reports have now emerged on WWE’s original Royal Rumble plans for Riddle, Following PWInsider’s report that Riddle was set to win the match, before the addition of Brock Lesnar.
