Here’s the latest on the investigation into the backstage altercation that took place following the September 4 All Out pay-per-view.
Following CM Punk’s media scrum appearance, the former AEW World Champion and Ace Steel were allegedly involved in a fight with Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson.
While these names are currently serving suspensions, Hangman Page fuelled speculation about potential AEW returns on the October 12 edition of Dynamite.
During the show, Page stated that it felt like his ‘old friends’ were already gone, seemingly referencing the absence of The Elite. Page also told Moxley that if he has a problem with him, say it to his face, a line which some felt was a shot at CM Punk following their previous heat.
Some have theorised that at least some of the suspended names will be returning to AEW TV soon, however per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the status of the AEW investigation is ‘unchanged as of tonight‘.
CM Punk is currently recovering from surgery after suffering a tricep injury at All Out, so is expected to be out of action for several months, regardless of the investigation.
