Here is the latest on the WWE status of Elias, and potential plans for his return to TV.

Elias last wrestled on the July 19, 2021 episode of Raw, losing to the now-released Jaxson Ryker in a Symphony of Destruction match.

Ringside News – which has had several backstage reports recently confirmed by the likes of Fightful and Dave Meltzer – now reports that Elias is currently in ‘creative purgatory’, with his name not being brought up by the WWE creative team.

The report revealed that a tenured member of this team noted “I don’t remember the last time his name came up. It’s been so long.” There are currently no plans in motion for Elias’ return to TV.

In December, WrestleVotes revealed that Elias was initially set to return with a look similar to the Macho Man, but Vince McMahon and co didn’t like it. Elias appears to be wearing this scrapped attire in his graphic for WWE 2K22, which you can view right here.

Ringside News previously reported that Elias had been spotted backstage in December, with no beard and cropped hair.
