Here’s the latest on when to expect news about the previously announced NXT Europe brand, following the closure of NXT UK.
In August 2022, it was announced that NXT UK would have a hiatus, and return in 2023 rebranded as NXT Europe.
While WWE stated that NXT Europe would be ‘bigger and better’, numerous NXT UK names were released following the closure of the brand.
We’re now in the sixth month of 2023, and don’t have any official news about the launch of NXT Europe, besides Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels stating that things are still in the ‘organizational stage‘.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has now provided a new update on NXT Europe, noting that news about the reboot is supposed to come in the late-summer.
Most of the NXT UK titles were unified with the US NXT brand’s gold at the September 2022 NXT Worlds Collide event.
The NXT UK Heritage Cup (Now just the NXT Heritage Cup) was recently reintroduced to TV, with current titleholder Noam Dar notably defending the accolade at the May 28 Battleground event against Dragon Lee.
