The latest news regarding the possibility of a partnership between AEW and NJPW has been revealed courtesy of Wrestling Observer Radio.
As has been reported recently already, Dave Meltzer reiterated that there are “open communications” between the two promotions about their futures.
Meltzer said:
“Tony Khan and Rocky Romero talk all the time. So, there’s open communications. It’s just a question of what you can do and make it work. It’s not like it was before. It has changed. Once Harold Meij was gone. It hasn’t happened yet, but that’s to say that it will happen, but I know that Tony Khan is open for it.”
Khan is reportedly open to working with any promotion, and obviously AEW and IMPACT started an angle this past week. As noted, now that Meij is no longer with New Japan, it seems more likely than it had been previously.
