An update has emerged on whether the episode of WWE Raw that will air on Boxing Day will be live or taped in advance.
Last week, following the December 16 edition of SmackDown, WWE taped matches and segments for the December 23 episode.
WWE will often tape shows that are set to air around Christmas in advance, so that employees are able to get home for the holidays.
However, the company seems to be doing something different for the episode of WWE Raw which will air the day after Christmas, December 26.
According to PWInsider, WWE is only slated to tape this evening’s (December 19) edition of WWE Raw in Des Moines, Iowa.
The company does not have any plans to film an additional episode to air next week.
However, the company does plan to hold a WWE Raw Holiday tour live event on December 26, which will be held in Columbus, Ohio.
The live event will not be broadcast, which seems to indicate that WWE is planning to air some kind of pre-taped holiday special in WWE Raw’s usual spot.
It has been speculated that a ‘best of’ show will be held in place of a live episode of Raw on December 26, which the likes of Dave Meltzer and Sean Ross Sapp have said is highly likely.
