Latest Update On Sasha Banks WWE Release Saga

Here’s the latest update on former Women’s Champion Sasha Banks, following conflicting reports about her WWE release.

Banks and Naomi haven’t appeared on WWE TV since they were suspended after walking out on the May 16 edition of WWE Raw.

Following several reports indicating that Banks has been released from her WWE contract, PWInsider revealed that both Banks and Naomi are still listed on WWE’s internal roster.

Per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the situation surrounding Banks isn’t a top talking point backstage anymore.

Stating that the locker-room doesn’t appear to know Banks’ status for certain, Meltzer noted:

“There have been reports of Banks being released over the past week plus. WWE has not confirmed the release and she is still listed on the web site. Talent doesn’t know and those I’ve asked said it’s long past something anyone talks or cares about because every day there is something new.”

Even reporters who haven’t been able to confirm Banks has been officially released have acknowledged that her lawyers have at least been in discussions with WWE about it.

Naomi recently returned to social media, referencing her absence in a ‘thank you’ message to John Cena following his WWE Raw appearance.
