Here is the latest on when we can expect Sasha Banks to make her WWE return, after The Boss missed SummerSlam in August.
As per Mike Johnson of PWInsider Elite (subscription required), WWE had planned for Banks to return this week, during the upcoming Madison Square Garden edition of SmackDown.
Also confirming reports that she was backstage at SmackDown last Friday, Johnson said:
“Sasha was at SmackDown last week, she did not appear on camera. I was told the plan was for her initially to be at SmackDown this week at the Garden, so I don’t know if she’ll return, but I expect her to be on the road for the company full time this week”
While it was previously reported that WWE hoped for The Boss to return to SmackDown on September 10, Banks recently took to Twitter to tease her appearance on the September 17 show, a week later.
Banks hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since before SummerSlam, where she was advertised to challenge Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Instead, Becky Lynch pinned Belair in under a minute to win the title.
Belair and Lynch will go one-on-one for the gold at Extreme Rules on September 26.
