Leaked Creative Plans For WWE SmackDown After WrestleMania 39

Leaked Creative Plans For WWE SmackDown After WrestleMania 39 WWE

UPDATE: We now have the answer as to whether Vince McMahon is at SmackDown tonight – find out at this link.

Some creative plans for tonight’s April 7 episode of WWE SmackDown on FOX, the first episode since WrestleMania 39, have leaked ahead of time.

Of course the big question is whether these plans will hold up, or whether a strange 77-year-old with a mustache will turn up at the show and change them all.

WRKD Wrestling reports that, at least as of 10:57pm ET on Thursday, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns was NOT scheduled for SmackDown.

However, plans do call for a continuation of the Bloodline storyline in the form of “a segment that leads to further tension between Paul Heyman and Jey Uso”.

WWE has already publicly announced a match between Sami Zayn and Jey Uso for SmackDown.

WRKD Wrestling later added that, as of 12:20am ET on Friday, LA Knight was planned to be featured on SmackDown in a segment with New Day member Xavier Woods.

Knight, despite continuing to grow in popularity, has recently lost matches to both Kofi Kingston and Woods himself.

Those are the plans that have leaked through WRKD Wrestling, who has developed a fantastic track record of accuracy, but WWE itself has already publicly announced some stuff for SmackDown as well, which are:

New Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens to appear

Sami Zayn vs. Jey Uso

Triple H to address the WWE Universe

Rey Mysterio & Santos Escobar vs. Dominik Mysterio & Damian Priest

New SmackDown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley “claims her throne on SmackDown”

Imperium vs. Brawling Brutes in a six-man tag team match

As alluded to earlier, it’s possible that any of these plans, even those that have been publicly advertised by WWE, could change at the whims of Vince McMahon, just like they did at Raw on Monday.

It remains to be seen if Raw was a one-off because Vince was already in LA for all of the weekend’s festivities, so if he travels to Portland for SmackDown, it suggests he does plan on running the show on a consistent basis.

As of the latest update from Dave Meltzer yesterday, nobody in WWE knew whether McMahon would be at SmackDown or not.

It’s also been suggested that he may decide not to travel, but still be involved in production meetings and running the show remotely.

We’ll keep you posted with any updates throughout the day.
