Legend Criticizes Tony Khan For Letting Cody Rhodes Get Away AEW

According to one professional wrestling legend with decades of experience, Tony Khan should have not let Cody Rhodes get away!

Speaking candidly to Inside the Ropes, pro wrestling legend Diamond Dallas Page has spoken critically about Tony Khan allowing Cody Rhodes to leave his grasp.

Noting not just the contributions that Cody made to the foundations of AEW but also harkening a bleak comparison to Eric Bischoff making a key move that lost WCW in the long run.

DDP saying:

“He (Cody Rhodes) would write the TVs. Like it’s challenging to write TVs and storylines and all of that. And Tony was right there, Tony Khan, but Tony didn’t know how to do that. He learned that from Cody.

“There is no way if I was Tony Khan, I’m losing Cody Rhodes. There is no way. I mean the other guys are important too, big time, they’re monster superstars but the guy who technically knows how to do the behind-the-scenes storytelling.

“… If I was Tony Khan, I never would have let him go. To me, it was like when Eric Bischoff let go of Stone Cold Steve Austin and I was like ‘Noooo, not him, not him’ and we all know what happened there.”

Cody Rhodes is currently scheduled to be in the main event of WrestleMania 39, challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship, just one year after making his return to the company.

Rhodes made a shock return at WrestleMania 38 to face Seth Rollins as a “mystery opponent”, after months of wild speculation regarding his future after he announced his departure from AEW.
