A professional wrestling legend has already been spotted backstage at WWE Royal Rumble 2024 as fans look forward to surprise appearances.
With fans already hoping to see their favorites pop up in the titular Royal Rumble matches, one name that may not be on their list of anticipated stars has been spotted backstage.
Snapping a pic with someone who very much is in the Men’s Royal Rumble, Drew McIntyre, which was shared on Twitter, Dory Funk is in attendance.
Dory Funk Jr., the brother of Terry Funk, is on-hand backstage at tonight’s event, still wearing his signature cowboy hat and smile.
The 82-year old legend is an icon of professional wrestling, having been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009, posing for a snap with Drew McIntyre which the latter shared.
Drew McIntyre wrote alongside the photo:
“Dory knows the score… #RoyalRumble”
Drew McIntyre looks to get back into the WWE Championship hunt by competing in tonight’s Men’s Royal Rumble match against a field of competitors that reads as a legendary who’s who of professional wrestling.
McIntyre will look to outlast the likes of CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston, Bobby Lashley, GUNTHER and Damian Priest plus 23 others in the Men’s WWE Royal Rumble 2024 match.
Beyond the titular men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches, Roman Reigns is also set for his first match since early November.
For the first time in his historic, record-breaking reign, Reigns will have the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the line against three other men in a four-way match.
Also, the United States Championship will be on the line as Logan Paul defends the title against Kevin Owens.
