Former Star Signed To ‘Ambassador’ Deal With WWE WWE

Lex Luger has opened up on his current relationship with the WWE having not wrestled for the company since 1995.

Luger joined WWE (then, the WWF) at Royal Rumble in 1993 and would go from being The Narcissist to The All American later that year.

He would bodyslam Yokozuna aboard the USS Intrepid, as can be seen in the video below this news story.

At Royal Rumble in 1994, both Luger and Bret Hart would be co-winners of the titular match with both going over the top rope.

By SummerSlam in 1995, Luger’s contract expired and he made his WCW return on the premiere episode of Nitro in September of that year.

On his Lex Expressed podcast on Ad Free Shows, he has now revealed his relationship with WWE, saying:

“Well, of course, I’m still an ambassador, which is a great program with WWE. They have some things they send us out on and we’re involved with behind the scenes.”

He would go on to discuss where he sees himself now in the wrestling world, adding:

“I’m a fan now. I feel like more part of the wrestling family now than I did when I was wrestling. I feel like I’ve come full circle.

“When I go to the comic cons and the fans come up and they bring their kids and they say, ‘Hey, this is who I watched when I was your age,’ it’s generational.

“Wrestling fans, I don’t know how else to explain it, they’re just special, and I feel like I’m a fan now.”

Luger would conclude by revealing that he watches both AEW and WWE, saying:

“I watch what’s happening in AEW and WWE, even though I’m under contract with WWE, I love it.

“I’m like going from being a performer to a wrestling fan now and I feel like I’m part of that special family.”

Luger wouldn’t make an in-ring return to WWE, even after Vince McMahon purchased WCW in 2001.

He made multiple appearances in TNA, including inducting Sting into the TNA Hall of Fame in October 2012.

In 2011, Luger revealed that he worked behind the scenes as part of the WWE Wellness Policy in their “wellness club.”
