Lilian Garcia has sent a message to John Cena after announcing the 17-time world champion’s final WWE match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
After a WWE farewell tour that spanned the entirety of 2025, John Cena’s legendary career came to close last night at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington D.C, as he was forced to submit to GUNTHER.
While Cena ended the year as the babyface hero fans know and love, one new addition to his presentation throughout the year has been his ring introductions.
What first began as a way to further convey Cena’s arrogance as a heel throughout the Spring and Summer of this year, evolved into a rightful celebration of Cena’s career and final appearances in each of the cities on his farewell tour.
For Cena’s final match of his WWE career at Saturday Night’s Main Event, the opportunity to introduce WWE’s “Greatest of All Time” went to veteran announcer Lilian Garcia, who had previously worked with John for much of his 23 years in the company.
Taking to Twitter after Cena’s retirement, Garcia described the opportunity as an “honor”, both last night and throughout his career:
What an honor @JohnCena to not only have announced your final match last night but your matches throughout your career!
You truly are the GOAT. Thank you for the memories & your dedication.
