Former WWE star Lince Dorado has revealed that 2023 will be the last year he wrestles as a masked competitor.
The luchador took to Twitter to note that he has thought about removing his mask for around five years now, but noted that he has finally decided that he’s ready to leave the headgear behind him.
Teasing a potential lucha de apuestas match, Dorado wrote:
I’ve contemplated this for a while now, possibly 5 years now. For almost 2 decades I have been someone I’m not. I have decided!
This will be my last year masked. Question is will I lose it or say f**k it, this is the real me? #luchalit
Dorado wore a mask for his entire WWE tenure, which began in 2016 with the Cruiserweight Classic tournament. The luchador competed on the 205 Live cruiserweight brand, eventually forming the Lucha House Party faction with Kalisto (Samuray Del Sol) and Gran Metalik (Mascara Dorada).
Since Lince Dorado’s WWE release in November 2021, he has since wrestled for NJPW and MLW.
The luchador is currently the MLW Middleweight Champion, defeating Shun Skywalker for the gold at Fightland 2022.
