Lio Rush Rejected $300,000 WWE Deal, Reportedly Requested Double That Amount

It seems like Lio Rush can’t say out of the news at the moment. Reported emerged that after an incident with Finn Balor, Bobby Lashley’s ‘hype man” had a great deal of backstage heat. That report was followed up by another that suggested Lio’s heat was so strong within WWE that there are talks of moving him back to NXT.

PWInsider‘s Mike Johnson has now added that although Rush has heat backstage, he was recently offered a five-year deal worth “in the range of” $300,000. However, while it is likely, the report does not confirm whether the deal is $300,000 per annum, or if that amount is spread across the five years. This is interesting as Rush spoke of his financial troubles in a recent interview.

However, the reports suggest that Rush turned down the deal, asking for “double that number”. His current deal is set to expire sometime in 2020 and it is not known if Rush is playing WWE for more money, or is genuinely unhappy and waiting to leave once his contract expires.

This comes after it was also reported this week that The Revival were offered and subsequently declined $500,000 per year contracts to stay with the company. The former NXT Tag Team Champions are widely expected to be leaving once their current deals expire, although WWE will be adding two months onto Wilder’s contract for ‘injury time’ amidst interest from All Elite Wrestling.
