Liv Morgan Addresses Criticism Of Raw Promo Referencing WWE Releases

Liv Morgan has addressed criticism surrounding her promo from last week’s edition of Monday Night Raw, referencing WWE releases.

On last Monday’s (November 29) show, Morgan argued that Raw Woman Champion Becky Lynch’s contract is the reason why her friends (Ruby Soho and Sarah Logan) were let go by the company. Sarah left WWE in 2020, while Ruby was one of over 80 wrestlers released this year.

Following the segment, a number of fans, and reportedly some talent within the company, criticised the promo, believing that the line was in bad taste.

Speaking with Ryan Satin for Out of Character, Morgan noted that she doesn’t think she said anything wrong, as taboo as the subject of WWE releases seems.

Revealing that her friends reached out to her after the promo, Morgan said:

“Was it hard for me to say what I said? No because Becky has brought up my friends and my friends not being here. After that segment, I got a text from my friends saying how proud they were and how amazing they thought it was. I don’t think there is any hard feelings anywhere around. I know I’m addressing something that may feel like an elephant in the room or taboo, but these are things that are happening.

“I don’t think I said anything wrong. Everyone is allowed to feel how they want and react how they want. There was not one intention in my mind to offend anyone or make light of any situation, but just address the reality of the situation. I felt like she needed to hear it. She’s on such a high horse right now that I couldn’t wait to yank her down and bring her to reality.”

PWInsider had noted that, as per several sources, the line likely came from Vince McMahon or the creative team, opposed to Morgan herself.

Morgan is set to challenge Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship on tonight’s episode of Raw.
