AEW Dynamite ‘Road Rager’ Live Results – June 15, 2022 AEW

It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means! It’s time for tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite, and it’s the Road Rager special!

There has been a change to the card due to the arrest of Jeff Hardy earlier this week, so the lineup is now as follows:

  • Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus (c) vs. Young Bucks – AEW World Tag Team Championship Ladder Match
  • Chris Jericho vs. Ortiz – Hair vs. Hair
  • Dax Harwood vs. Will Ospreay
  • Ethan Page vs. Miro – AEW All-Atlantic Championship Qualifier
  • Britt Baker vs. Toni Storm
  • Wardlow vs. 20 Security Guards in the ‘Class Action Handicap Match’
  • Jon Moxley & Hiroshi Tanahashi Face-To-Face ahead of their Forbidden Door match for the Interim AEW World Championship

As always with AEW that looks like a hell of a lot to pack into two hours, and the show will likely fly by with plenty of news.

Follow along with our live coverage below to keep up with all the updates, results and reactions to tonight’s show.

Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus (c) vs. Young Bucks - AEW World Tag Team Championship Ladder Match

Major main event action that is predictably fun to watch and I’m fine with being stressed out for only four men instead of the originally scheduled six?

This is a highly enjoyable (and scary to me!) spotfest that sees numerous wonderful and horrifying spots including an INSANE flying elbow off the top of a ladder onto Luchasaurus from Matt Jackson and then Luchasaurus also going through four tables on the outside of the ring.

The Young Bucks pick up the victory to become the NEW AEW Tag Team Champions! To be fair, the Young Bucks already told us this was going to happen in their Twitter bio, we can’t be mad.

After the match Luchasaurus is laid out, Christian checks on him before going into the ring and seemingly helping Jungle Boy along with Doc Sampson until he instead grabs him and lays him out!

NO CHRISTIAN!!!! also, I mean yeah okay, we all knew that was coming didn’t we?

Toni Storm vs. Britt Baker D.M.D.

Toni Storm and Britt Baker kick off with speed as an early interference by Jamie Hayter summons a runout from Thunder Rosa who chases them off before the commercial break.

After the break, in a fun spot, Baker plays possum and almost wins because of it however Storm was able to kick out and shortly thereafter reversed Baker’s Lock Jaw to nail a Storm Zero to get the pinfall for the win!

After the match, Thunder Rosa comes out on the ramp, holds up her AEW Women’s World Championship belt smiling and pointing at Toni Storm (like she’s the WrestleMania sign, lol), and they both nod while commentary says championship opportunity “in the future.”

The women’s quarter-hour wraps up with your favorite and mine, the publicist for the Jade Brand, Stokely Hathaway here to announce an open challenge for Jade’s TNT Championship on Friday’s edition of AEW Rampage with Willow Nightingale interrupting to accept Jade’s open challenge.

This is after Stokely mistakenly offers her a place in the Baddies after loving her look and vibe and not recognizing her at all, later ending the segment by calling her Wilma.

Ethan Page vs. Miro - AEW All-Atlantic Championship Qualifier

Miro picks up the win and moves on to the All-Atlantic Championship via submission after a hard-hitting match between these two strongmen.

Moxley and Tanahashi In-Ring Promo

Solid set up for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door with Moxley laying the storyline groundwork for rivalry with Tanahashi… is what I wrote before all hell broke loose.

As Mox handed Tanahashi the mic, Chris Jericho interrupted them accompanied by Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti (whose outfit matched Jericho’s silver sequin jacket which was a fun touch) as multiple things seemingly happened at once. He orders an attack on Mox and Tanahashi and when the runouts start it isn’t just the rest of the JAS, also the Murderhawk Lance Archer, NJPW star El Desperado.

Jericho says that both Tay and Sammy are in Jericho Appreciation Society and calls them “Los Tres Sex Gods” + he sets up a wild assortment for a Forbidden Door after announcing that the Suzuki-Gun members were on loan from Minoru Suzuki, who will team with Jericho and Guevara at Forbidden Door to take on Wheeler Yuta, Shota Umino, and Eddie Kingston.

Dax Harwood vs. Will Ospreay

Woo this was a beauty. I can describe it to you but no words are sufficient, it was an awesome match that you would be well suited to go locate!

However, let’s try to synthesize – in an excellent further introduction to Will Ospreay, we also get to see a very fun and unique side to Dax Harwood who shines all on his own even without tag-team partner Cash Wheeler.

Wheeler of course appears after Ospreay’s United Empire brethren join him in the ring but the post-match beatdown doesn’t last long as Wheeler was joined as well by Roppongi Vice and the returning freshly squeezed Orange Cassidy as the segment ended with a staredown between Cassidy and Ospreay.

Wardlow Class Action Lawsuit - Wardlow vs. 20 Security Guards

Hair vs. Hair Match - Chris Jericho vs.Ortiz

After a run-in from “Fuego Del Sol” cost Ortiz the match, he reveals himself to be Sammy Guevara to molten heel heat as the crowd joyfully resumes booing him as Ortiz doesn’t wait for any barber to assist.

Instead, Kingston hops on the mic and says that Ortiz is a man of his word so, he let’s him do the honors as Ortiz starts buzzing off his own braids and shouting, “Blood and Guts!!” You can check out the video by clicking here.

Awesome match to lead up to Blood & Guts on June 29!
