AEW Rampage Live Results – June 3, 2022 AEW

It’s Friday Night and you know what that means! It’s AEW Rampage. We’re just a few days removed from Double or Nothing. Rampage should be interesting tonight.

Here is the card:

  • The Lucha Bros vs. The Young Bucks
  • Scorpio Sky vs. Dante Martin
  • Athena vs. Kiera Hogan
  • Starks and Hobbs in action

An in-ring debut, one of the best tag rivalries of the last decade, and what should be an entertaining high flying match. Make sure to join us for our live coverage tonight at 10pm EST.

It's time for the main event

That sucks about CM Punk. We get the obligatory Mark Henry pre-match promo. Dante Martin is such a bad talker at this point they are letting Matt Sydal talk for him. Sky, Page, and Lambert deliver the rebuttal. They definitely won the battle of words.

Sky is a great high flyer, but he’s got the power advantage in this one. So, he’s sticking to strikes and power moves. Eventually, Dante reverses and Martin gains control.

After a picture in picture break, Dante Martin hits a shotgun dropkick from the top rope. I think he was at least 12 feet in the air. As a result, Dan Lambert gets involved. He didn’t really have much impact on the match. Dante Martin keeps fighting for a few minutes, but in the end, Scorpio Skygets the win hitting the TKO.

Sky retains the title. During his match, Excalibur tried to make the announcement. It seemed a bit unclear. Anyhow, AEW are naming an interim world title. There is a a battle royal. The winner faces Moxley. That winner is the new number 1 contender and will face someone at Forbidden Door.  Got it. good

Have a great weekend everyone.

CM Punk is here to speak

The announcers think he’s injured. They are saying he’s going to address it tonight. I don’t think he was injured. I just think he botched a few things.

Punk is tearing up. CM Punk says he said he would wrestle until his wheels fell off. He’s loved this experience down to his bones, even the broken ones.

CM Punk says he’s injured and he needs surgery. He said he wants to go on a hell of a run. He says he can still do that. He says he can come back from his injury.

It sounds like he’s about to vacate the title. He says there’s a long list of people who can be champion. He says he’d relinquish the title, but Tony said he believes in CM Punk. He says the get-back is going to be bigger than the setback.

Right before the commercial, it Jericho said it’s a shame right after he wins it, he hast to relinquish it. Holy crap.

Well, they shouldn’t have pulled the plug on Hangman if that is the case. Wow.

Kiera Hogan is facing the debuting Athena

Kiara Haogan and her buds are out. Kiera Hogan wants to teach Athena a lesson for Team Baddies. We’ll see what the Cargill Group has in mind to make sure Athena doesn’t win. It looks like it might be hard for her to do that with all of them ringside.

The Baddies being ringside is indeed causing a lot of trouble. Athena gets distracted by Cargill. At one point, Hogan grabs Aubrey. While she can’t see what is going on, Red Velvet drills her in the head. Hogan hits a big leg drop on the back of her head. It’s not enough to put her away.

We go to picture in picture. Finally, we’re back to the action. Holy crap. Athena hits a stiff looking drop kick that sent Hogan flying. She follows up with a handspring into the corner. She climbs to the top rope, but Velvet shoves her off.

Athena hits the diving cutter from the top rope. She doesn’t quite get all of it, but the announcers put it over as though it was the biggest thing ever. After her Super Cutter, she makes the pin and gets the win. Athena wins in her debut.

Next, we get a promo from House of Black with the new member of Julia Hart. She speaks. She delivered her lines well, but she just doesn’t fit that group in my opinion. We’ll see how it goes.

Starks and Hobbs

Starks and Hobbs attack before the bell rings. Once the bell rings, AEW cuts to an inset promo. During the promo, Hobbs gets the win.

That was quick. Hobbs and Starks win and look to get back on track after failing to win the Tag Team Titles.

The Battle of the Bros

The Young Bucks and The Lucha Bros are starting us off. Penta and Matt start us off. Penta does the no fear glove thing and the crowd eats it up. Neither man can really gain an advantage. Now, Nick and Fenix. Jericho on commentary makes it sound like Fedex.

It only took about 7 minutes for them to have the everyone takes a turn of jumping on to the others in the match. The match was every bit as good as you expect these two team to perform.

Neither team could really gain an advantage. In the end, Matt Jackson pulls off the mack of Sultan. Penta lying in the core because he doesn’t want anyone seeing. The Bucks then hit The BTE trigger for the win.

With the Young Buck victory, it appears they may be getting a bit of a push. The Young Bucks may be the ones to take the titles off Jurassic Express.
