Live Results – AEW Rampage – September 17, 2021

I have no idea why they added a car to this one. I’m assuming it will result in Sammy getting involved somehow.  Miro is going to kill Fuego. Fuego really showed up for this one.

Fuego had a great showing. However, in the end, Miro tried to kick the head right off his shoulders.

After the match, Miro stuffs the car keys right in Fuego’s mouth and then locks in The Game Over. Sammy Guevara makes the save. Sammy reaches down and picks up the title.

Miro won’t get in the ring and take the title back. Miro looks furious.

Looks like we’ve got Miro’s next challenger lined up.

Baker and Soho go opposite one another in the ring. Baker says Ruby doesn’t have any idea who she is.

Ruby responds saying she knows exactly who she is, but just haven’t had the chance to prove it. Ruby takes a big shot. She says she’s banging some dude in the back.

This is good. This feels like the first real feud since she has had since winning the title. Baker drops a big one of her own. Saying Ruby didn’t run away. She got fired.

This is one of those promos where they took some liberties with each other. But, I’m sure everyone was okay with it. I loved it.

This match starts off intensely. Both women have their partners in their corners. Ford and Conti are here. Bunny has Hardy and Jack Evans with her as well.

This match isn’t going to break any star rating scales. It was entertaining and had the feel of a real feud. In the end, Anna Jay wins via roll-up.

After the match, Penelope Ford attacks both Conti and Jay with the Brass Knuckles. She lays them out.

We then get a video package of Will Hobbs talking trash for the big match next week. Matt Hardy is in the ring and is furious after going 0-2.

Anna Jay goes against Penelope Ford. Private Party tags with Butcher and Blade against Santana, Ortiz, and the Lucha Bros. Hardy then attacks some heavy-set long haired guy dressed like Orange Cassidy.

Omega and Danielson appear in a video package. Omega uses the fact that Danielson wants to face him as a way to say how good he is. Everyone wants to face him.

Danielson is talking like he’s good and he knows it. So, he thinks he deserves it. It is an interesting side to Danielson. It’s definitely more reminiscent of his ROH days than his WWE persona.

This is a great match to start The Lucha Bros title reign. AEW does a really good job of building up competitors who aren’t going to win, but are credible enough to be challengers. No one thinks Butcher and Blade are going to win. However, everyone knows the match will be good.

That’s what fans want. Sometimes, you just want to watch a good match even if you know who’s going to win. I’m going to a football game this weekend of my favorite college team. They are heavy favorites to win. Doesn’t matter. Sometimes, you just want to watch your favorites get an easy win. As opposed to that other company that book their singles champion and number 1 contender in a match against the tag champs. Someone who doesn’t need a loss had to get one. So dumb.

Back to the good stuff. Butcher looks amazing. He’s gotten into incredible shape.

The Lucha Bros are in charge, but eventually, The Blade ties Penta’s mask to the ropes. Penta can’t get his mask off the rope. So, he takes the whole thing off. He superkicks and Fenix rolls them up for the win. HFO comes down and attacks Lucha Bros.

Santana and Ortiz come down and make the save. YES, YES, YES. Please give me PNP and Lucha Bros.
