Bron Breakker in ring with Cameron Grimes

Ahead of their big match at next week’s Great American Bash edition of NXT 2.0, Bron Breakker and Cameron Grimes came face to face in the NXT 2.0 main event.

An impressive promo between these two as Cameron Grimes gets personal, Bron Breakker falls a little flat by comparison and ends the segment in what was alluded to as his shoulder being popped out of socket with medical staff attending to him while Grimes slunk away saying, “Make sure he’s okay! He has a big match next week,” in a delightful heel touch to end an overall decidedly over promo. The crowd probably wasn’t suppsoed to be as squarely behind Grimes as they were but then again, someone in the back forgot to have him insult everyone and call them either fat, lazy or ugly… that’s how you know who the real heels are!

Next week’s Great American Bash is already set up to be a really fun card – we’ll see you next week for even more WWE NXT 2.0 Live Results!

Sanga vs. Xyon Quinn

A quick but powerful match between two very big athletes but with different enough styles to make for a compelling story within the ring (while not particularly interesting from an emotional or storytelling perspective.) Sanga wins via pinfall after a big chokeslam.

Backstage later Xyon Quinn kind of teases also joining Maximum Male Models? My new theory is both Giovanni Vinci and Xyon Quinn will be called up together as Max Du-PRI’s male models, let’s time stamp this fantasy booking now!

Mandy Rose vs. Nikkita Lyons

This was a fun match that hopefully foreshadows an ongoing feud between these two (I would like to see Roxanne Perez hang on to her Breakouts Tournament championship match opportunity to cash it in on the main roster as a surprise one day instead of anywhere in NXT!)  After some fun back and forth action, it sort of devolves into the mess that many Toxic Attraction matches do as by the end, both Gigi and Jacy have attacked Nikkita!

This match just sort of ends? I think that Nikkita Lyons is the winner via disqualification but either I missed the announcement or none was made. Toxic Attraction beats up Nikkita Lyons including a slap across the face from Mandy Rose as the Women’s champ attempts to put the young Lyons in her place.

But then, Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez appear, attacking from behind and leaving TA scampering, all three faces standing tall in the ring together.

Diamond Mine vs. Dyad

After having an earlier confrontation backstage between Joe Gacy and the Diamond Mine, the match is Roderick Strong, Julius Creed and Brutus Creed taking on Joe Gacy and the Dyad. At the end of their backstage chat, Roddy reaffirmed the strength of the Diamond Mine… and then gave a sneaky bump just to Damon Kemp so that’s fascinating.

After a decent match, the Dyad pulls some Bella Twins-style twin magic and one rolls a slightly more fatigued I guess? one out of the ring to then do one move, tag that tired bloke back in to hit an elevated DDT together to then get the pinfall victory over Roderick Strong.

By the end of the segment, the Creeds are yelling at Roddy so I suppose Joe Gacy’s attempt at teasing the dissension amidst Diamond Mine further to the surface was a success.

Indi Hartwell vs. Kiana James

Indi Hartwell looking strong in her entrance but oddly loses in a relatively fast match-up against Kiana James who rolls her up and has a sneaky foot on the ropes during the pin.

Giovanni Vinci vs. Ikemen Jiro

Fun match between two great performers with Vinci appearing very impressive and with the entire gimmick package (the entrance, the paparazzi-style snaps, the VITTORIA after he picks up the pinfall victory? All very good!

Okay if we give WWE a LOT of credit and assume that Giovanni Vinci is actually on the fast track to a debut on the main roster on SmackDown (somewhat alongside Imperium after all!) and that this entire gimmick is to fit with the Maximum Male Models stable, this is actually brilliant!

Cora Jade & Roxanne Perez vs. Katana Chance & Kayden Carter

A very fun match-up between these two teams who honestly seem all main roster ready, what are we waiting for?!

Kayden Carter took out Cora Jade but then Cora Jade was back! Roxanne Perez connected on the Pop Rocks to pickup the pinfall victory and send her and Cora Jade to the Great American Bash where they will take on Toxic Attraction for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships!

Almost time!
