WWE NXT Live Results – May 20, 2020

Hello and welcome to our live coverage for tonight’s WWE NXT, which like the last few weeks looks like it should be a pretty decent episode.

Here’s what’s lined up for tonight:

• Karrion Kross w/ Scarlett open the show
• Rhea Ripley vs Io Shirai
• Roderick Strong vs Dexter Lumis
• Kushida vs Drake Maverick
• El Hijo del Fantasma vs Akira Tozawa

Those last two matches are in Group A and B respectively in the interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. I’ll explain the specific implications of each when we get to them during the show.

I mentioned that over the last few weeks the lineups have been pretty good, but in my assessment the shows have ended up underdelivering slightly. Hopefully the yellow brand can buck that trend tonight.

This is also the antipenultimate episode ahead of TakeOver: In Your House on 7 June, so we may see some matches announced for that show tonight. Last week already gave us a decent idea of a few bouts we can expect.
