WWE Raw Live Results – December 10, 2018

04:03am

Corbin dominated for a while, and despite a few bursts and dives from Seth, Chokeslammed the ‘Kingslayer’ through a table

Rollins accidentally hits Slater with chair and lands a Frog Splash on Corbin through a table. After Seth climbs the ladder, Heath has recovered and pushes him off the ladder.

He throws Corbin back into the ring to climb the ladder, but Seth manages to get back in in time, Buckle Bombs Corbin through a table, Superkicks Slater, and delivers a final Curb Stomp to the GM-Elect to retain the title!

Ambrose comes down the ramp to stare down with Seth as the show goes of the air.

That was a really fun conclusion to what I thought was actually a really good show. A huge step up from the last couple of weeks.

03:36am

As this one gets kicked off, let’s check back in with Linus for some numbers:

  • This is the first TLC match on Raw since CM Punk vs. Ryback in January 2013
  • It’s the first ever TLC match on Raw that isn’t for the WWE Championship
  • Seth Rollins is undefeated in TLC matches, but has never competed in a singles TLC match
  • This is the first ever TLC match for the Intercontinental Championship

03:26am

Interesting news… Lashley vs. Elias is now a Ladder match, with a guitar hanging above the ring.

Oh boy.

Up next, it’s the main event – Corbin vs. Seth in a TLC match for the IC Title, and yes, Slater is the ref.

03:15am

Tamina has most of the match, but Nia gets up on the apron to distract Ember. This leads to Ronda chucking Nia over the barricade and an Eclipse from Moon to Tamina for the win.

03:09am

Nia said some words about her fist, Tamina stood behind her, Ronda came out and said she wanted a fight, Nia and Tamina squared up 2-on-1, Ember came out, and now we’ve got Ember vs. Tamina.

Hell of a “press conference” there!

03:00am

Baron Corbin just told Slater he has another match to ref tonight.

Baron Corbin has an IC Title TLC match against Seth Rollins tonight.

Scenes.

Anyway, up next, it’s Alexa Bliss’ “press conference” with Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey.

02:48am

After a really impressive showing from Rush, Lashley gets into the ring and gets involved, but Slater doesn’t DQ him because he knows Corbin will fire him if he does.

After Lashley strikes Elias with Elias’ guitar, he orders Slater to count the fall, and Rush picks up the win.

02:40am

Elias remains the best part of Raw.

He turns the “your hometown sucks” completely on its head, before going on to sing about how Bobby Lashley sucks.

He, as always, was great.

Up next, he takes on Lashley’s hype man, Lio Rush.

And in an interesting turn of events, Heath Slater is the referee!

02:31am

Dean Ambrose backstage with Charly Caruso, oddly not wearing his gas mask.

When quizzed about what Roman Reigns would think of his actions, Dean simply replied “who cares?”.

A vignette of the feud so far plays, and then Dean just walks away.

Will he get involved in the match to cost Seth his title later tonight?

02:17am

In fact, it’s just Bayley in singles action, taking on Alicia Fox ahead of the MMC final tomorrow night.

Cole announced that Finn Bálor is hurt and Apollo Crews will be replacing him as Bayley’s partner.

And just as I type that, Apollo runs out to ringside to attack Jinder and the Singhs, and Bayley picks up the win over Fox.

02:12am

Another interesting stat via Linus:

That loss to Drew means Dolph now stands at 23 wins and 23 losses in TV and PPV matches in 2018. Talk about 50/50 booking.

Up next, the Boss & Hug Connection are in action.

02:04am

In a really great match there, Drew McIntyre gets his win back over Ziggler.

Ziggler did a great job of making Drew look dominant, and despite a Zig Zag from Dolph that led to a nearfall, the Scot manages to land a Claymore to put Dolph down.

Drew continues the beatdown after the match, sending a message to TLC opponent Finn Bálor in the process.

01:47am

Natalya cuts an emotional in-ring promo about how she will dedicate her Tables match against Ruby Riott on Sunday to her late father Jim Neidhart.

The Riott Squad then come out, and Ruby accuses Natalya of “disgracing” her family.

Ruby then unveils a table that has the ‘Anvil’ on it, and she says she’s going to put Nattie through that very table, meaning her and her father will be the closest they have ever been.

01:37am

The great Linus from our Discord server has just informed me of the following rather interesting stats:

That’s the eighth change of the Raw tag team titles in 2018, and no team has held the belt twice.

Jason Jordan/Seth >> The Bar >> Strowman/Nicholas >> Hardy/Wyatt >> B Team >> Dolph/Drew >> Seth/Dean >> AOP >> Roode/Gable

Intriguing indeed.

Also confirmed for tonight:

01:33am

Oh. Right. I don’t quite know what to make of that.

AOP dominated Roode and Gable, and tagged Maverick in much like last week to get the fall.

However, Drake takes far too long posing and Roode rolls him up to get the win.

Roode and Gable are the new Raw Tag Team Champions!

I’ll admit, I found that rather entertaining.

01:25am

Raw Tag Title match has just kicked off, with AOP defending against Roode & Gable.. again.

Only this time, it’s a 3-on-2 Handicap with Drake Maverick joining Akam and Rezar.

Or, as I like to call it, the AOP House Rules match.

01:16am

Rollins calls out ‘GM-Elect’ Baron Corbin, who comes out to a chorus of boos from the San Diego crowd, and says he’d prefer to talk to Seth in private. Good effort, Baron.

Rollins tells Corbin that Raw has sucked recently because of Corbin’s poor management. That first part is certainly true.

Seth Rollins namedrops the Revival and criticizes Corbin’s booking in repeatedly putting them in Lucha House Rules matches, and that piss segments are dumb. He’s just saying what we’re all thinking, and it feels like somewhat of an admission on WWE‘s behalf.

Rollins also criticizes Universal Champion Brock Lesnar for not showing up, noting that he hasn’t had a match on Raw since 2002.

The ‘Kingslayer’ also notes that the TV ratings have sucked recently (which they have), and again blames it on Corbin.

This is just roleplay: Rollins is Twitter and Corbin is WWE‘s Creative team. And I’m actually kinda digging it.

Seth goes on to challenge Corbin to a TLC match TONIGHT, which of course, Baron declines. Until… Rollins calls him a coward a bunch of times, which causes the GM to lose his head and accept. But there’s a caveat, the IC Title is on the line!

Wowzers. What a start.

01:04am

Tonight’s show opens with IC Champion Seth Rollins, who has a slightly remixed theme which just keeps shouting “BURN IT DOWN!” which sounds a bit silly if you ask me.

Anyway, Rollins is here to address his TLC opponent Dean Ambrose and “spit some truth”.

It’s TLC this Sunday. No, I can’t believe it either. The relentless pounding of WWE pay-per-views continues, and unless some changes are made to the card, it’s going to be a long one.

There are currently 11 matches set for TLC, with six of them coming from the red brand. Never fear though, because I have a theory that we’ll see a few of the matches merge tonight.

If Braun Strowman is still out after his elbow surgery, his match against Baron Corbin is obviously a write-off. We’ve also got Finn Bálor vs. Drew McIntyre and Elias vs. Bobby Lashley scheduled. However, bearing in mind a report a couple of weeks ago, the size of the card, and how last week’s show played out, there’s a chance we could end up with a six-man tag that looks something like: Finn Bálor, Elias & Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley & Drew McIntyre.

There is also the possibility that I’m wrong in being that specific, because there is a lot of speculation from my end, so don’t hold me to those particular changes, but a tweet earlier today from the reliable WrestleVotes does tell us to expect changes to be made to the TLC card tonight.

Also tonight, Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins is set to address Raw‘s resident anti-bacterial enthusiast Dean Ambrose, who will challenge the ‘Architect’ for his title on Sunday in what has become quite the lackluster feud. The difference between this and the Gargano/Ciampa storyline in NXT really accentuates the difference between the products.

The overseer of the Raw women’s division Alexa Bliss will host a “press conference” between Ronda Rousey and Nia Jax ahead of Rousey’s Women’s Title defense at TLC. I bet it goes great with no issues at all and absolutely will not suck.

Other little bits and bobs that could pop up tonight include the refereeing debut of Heath Slater, Lucha House Party using their silly rules to beat either one or both of the Revival in a completely unfair manner, and maybe a little sprinkle of piss. What more could you ask for on a Monday night?
