WWE Raw Live Results – January 25, 2021
    WWE

We have reached the final episode of WWE Raw of January 2021 and more importantly the last episode of Raw before the Royal Rumble. Tonight we will have the final interactions between opponents before their matches this Sunday and the last chance to see who will head into the Rumble match with some momentum.

Here is everything currently announced for tonight’s WWE Raw:

    • Drew McIntyre and Goldberg return to Raw
    • WWE Raw Women’s Championship Match – Asuka (c) vs. Alexa Bliss
    • Charlotte Flair vs. Shayna Baszler
    • Gauntlet Match – Riddle vs. MVP, Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander

What are your thoughts on the above story? Let us know in the comments on Twitter or Facebook.

    11:00pm

WWE Raw Women's Championship Match - Asuka (c) vs. Alexa Bliss (No Contest)

Asuka beat up Alexa Bliss early but Bliss just smiled and laughed while she was in the ring. Bliss sent Asuka outside and when Asuka turned around Bliss was on a rocking horse in the ring. Just so incredibly stupid.

When they returned from commercial the horse was gone and they were just wrestling. No explanation. Bliss got the heat very briefly but Asuka hit a sliding kick for a nearfall. Asuka went for a move and Bliss had transformed into her regular self and was crying. She walked over to a corner and turned back into a demon.

    😯😯😯#WWERaw @AlexaBliss_WWE @RandyOrton pic.twitter.com/B6sNQpWuGv

    — WWE (@WWE) January 26, 2021

She did the Bray Wyatt pose and Asuka was all scared. Bliss then no-sold all of Asuka’s offense but before she could try to win Randy Orton hit her with an RKO as the show went off the air.

Well, that was absolutely horrible. If left to their own devices this could have been a really good match but instead, it was a cartoon. Oh well.

    10:43pm

Edge is in the Royal Rumble

Edge says 2020 has taught us that tomorrow is not guaranteed. Sometimes you have to pick yourself and keep walking forward.

He says ten years ago he went to bed as the World Heavyweight Champion. But a week later he had to forfeit that title, the only career he has ever wanted and his dream. He remembers telling his mom that he was going to be a wrestler and she said “go do it”. And those were the words that kept him going when he needed to get his dream back.

    This year's #RoyalRumble Match?omit_script=1 It's officially RATED-R!@EdgeRatedR will see you all on Sunday. #WWERaw pic.twitter.com/ZLPfl162P8

    — WWE (@WWE) January 26, 2021

At Backlash Randy Orton tore his triceps and took his dream away again. His mom would tell him “Adam, just go do it”. So he is entering the Royal Rumble and he is going to get back what he never lost.

He says Henry Ford once said “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right” well Edge thinks he can.

Edge just cut the best promo WWE has had in God knows how long. He is truly on another level and you can tell he is allowed to come up with his own material. Just amazing.

    10:28pm

Gauntlet Match Part 3 - Riddle def. Cedric Alexander

Cedric Alexander worked over Riddle with holds and knees. Cedric really had control for basically the entire match. Riddle was able to hit a desperation German Suplex but was cut off again. MVP yelled at Cedric from the floor to cradle his head.

Riddle got beaten down hard as Cedric lost his temper but when Cedric went to the top rope he missed a move and Riddle locked in a Triangle Choke. Cedric was able to powerbomb his way out but Riddle quickly rolled him up for the pin.

Riddle will face Bobby Lashley for the United States Championship.

After the match, Lashley jumped Riddle and put him in the Hurt Lock.

    10:16pm

Gauntlet Match Part 2 - Riddle def. MVP

Immediately afterward, MVP was trying to calm down Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin when the bell rang. Riddle rolled him up and locked in a heel hook for the submission win. Cedric is all that’s left.

    Now it's —@SuperKingofBros: 2️⃣#TheHurtBusiness: 0️⃣

One more match to go in this Gauntlet Match! #WWERaw pic.twitter.com/TTaBRBC06n

    10:13pm

Gauntlet Match Part 1 - Riddle def. Shelton Benjamin

Riddle tried to hit a knee right out of the gate but Benjamin was able to avoid most of Riddle’s offense. Riddle went for another knee but Benjamin set him on the top rope and sent him to the outside.

Back in the ring, Benjamin worked Riddle over with holds and then strikes. Benjamin hit a big knee strike of his own and grabbed more holds. Riddle locked in a guillotine out of nowhere but Benjamin powered him up for a suplex. Riddle kneed him mid-suplex and MVP and Cedric got on the apron.

The #HurtBusiness is not exactly clicking at the moment … because @SuperKingOfBros just made his way through the first part of this #GauntletMatch! #WWERaw pic.twitter.com/KMqtuZi7DO

    — WWE (@WWE) January 26, 2021

Cedric distracted the referee while Benjamin had the pin by accident and Riddle rolled Benjamin up for the pin.

    10:04pm

Alexa Bliss is crazy and talks crazy and whatever

They recapped Randy Orton’s promo from last week where he wore the lucha burn mask.

We then had Alexa Bliss being nuts in her playground with a swingset. She recapped her interactions with Asuka while talking to an invisible person.

She wants a shiny new toy and doesn’t feel like playing nice. She sings Ring Around The Rosey and the segment ends with The Fiend saying Let Me In.

    "I can't wait to see HIM again."#WWERaw @AlexaBliss_WWE pic.twitter.com/eZV5W72jiU

    9:52pm

    AJ Styles def. R-Truth

AJ Styles jumps R-Truth at the bell and beats him down, hitting a backbreaker before being thrown to the outside by Truth.

Truth came face to face with Omos and AJ Styles went for the Phenomenal Forearm. He missed and R-Truth hit the side slam and the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Truth went for the Attitude Adjustment but Styles reversed it into the Calf Crusher for the submission win.

Nothing to this match, just a way to hype up the Rumble.

    9:46pm

Ric Flair is showing Lacey Evans holds

Ric Flair was showing Lacey Evans holds backstage. Kinda like Triple H showing them to Trish Stratus in 2000 but not as fun. Charlotte walked in and very calmly told Lacey to leave before tearing her dad apart while saying she’s not the bad guy.

Lacey laid her out and pulled Ric away.

    9:41pm

The Miz & John Morrison def. Sheamus

So now we have this handicap match where both The Miz and John Morrison can be in the ring at the same time. They both beat on Sheamus at first, hitting kicks and knees and a standing shooting star press.

They sent Sheamus to the outside, Miz hit a dropkick and Morrison hit a plancha. They threw Sheamus around some more. Sheamus finally fought back, dumping Morrison to the outside and hitting his comeback on both men. He hit his ten clubbing forearms on Miz then on Morrison before Sheamus hitting a diving clothesline on both men from the top rope to the floor.

    How is @WWESheamus even doing this?omit_script=1!#WWERaw @mikethemiz @TheRealMorrison pic.twitter.com/UKkIcUPR5E

    — WWE (@WWE) January 26, 2021

Sheamus fought off Morrison with a Brogue Kick but Miz hit the Skull-Crushing Finale for the win.

This was a very weird choice to book. Really takes away from Sheamus’s win tonight in what was a really good little match.

    9:30pm

    Sheamus def. John Morrison

Sheamus used his power to muscle John Morrison around while Morrison tried to use his agility. This was pretty evenly matched as both men grappled for control in the early goings.

Sheamus finally got control with a big back body drop before laying it in with clubbing uppercuts. Morrison was able to get out of that jam with his agility but Sheamus soon cut him off again. Sheamus went for his flying shoulder tackle but Morrison hit a dropkick to Sheamus’ knee.

Morrison followed up with a knee strike and really went to work on Sheamus’ knee. He hit a dragon screw and continued to wrench on that knee. Sheamus finally powered out and began his comeback with ax handles and a swinging slam.

Sheamus locked in the Texas Cloverleaf but Morrison got the ropes before eating a knee and the White Noise for the win. This was a very solid little match.

After the match The Miz said Sheamus has to be ready for the Royal Rumble and challenged him to a handicap match. Sheamus accepted even though there is no reason for this match but oh well.

    9:14pm

    R-Truth facing AJ Styles tonight

In a backstage segment with Adam Pearce, R-Truth wants to be in Money in the Bank. No that isn’t a mistake, he just doesn’t know what pay per view is happening. AJ Styles is there and Pearce says if Truth can beat Styles he will think about putting him in the Rumble.

According to WWE Official @ScrapDaddyAP, @RonKillings will face @AJStylesOrg TONIGHT to secure a spot in the #RoyalRumble THIS SUNDAY. #WWERaw pic.twitter.com/BqgRBwC5KH

    — WWE (@WWE) January 26, 2021

Ah yes, a battle of two NWA TNA Champions.

    9:10pm

Edge will be on Raw tonight

Edge is going to be on Raw tonight. This is the first we are hearing of this which is a tad odd.

JUST IN: @EdgeRatedR will update the @WWEUniverse on his injury status TONIGHT on #WWERaw! pic.twitter.com/jAenAhf5oE

    9:07pm

The MVP Lounge with The Hurt Business

MVP and The Hurt Business came out for the Hurt Business. They reminisced about their last year together but said they need to focus on tonight’s Gauntlet match with Riddle. Cedric Alexander was getting on Shelton Benjamin’s nerves again but the group gave a gold chain with THB on it to MVP. Pretty cool.

    This is NOT the way @The305MVP @fightbobby @Sheltyb803 & @CedricAlexander envisioned this edition of the #VIPLounge going.#WWERaw @RonKillings @SuperKingOfBros pic.twitter.com/6G00qO5nvG

    — WWE (@WWE) January 26, 2021

R-Truth then came out because he thought this was a birthday party for him. Lashley said he did have a gift for him and all the 24/7 Championship geeks came out. A brawl with everyone involved began and in the melee Riddle hit the knee strike on MVP and ran away.

    8:53pm

    Xavier Woods def. SLAPJACK

Xavier Woods jumped SLAPJACK as soon as the match started and had control until SLAPJACK hit a bulldog from the apron into the ring. Woods then started hitting chops and such until Mustafa Ali sent T-Bar to distract him.

T-Bar did and Woods just hit a Shining Wizard for the win.

After the match Woods was attacked by Retribution. T-Bar and MACE hit a double chokeslam and Mustafa Ali cut a promo on Woods. He said Woods wants to be King of the Ring but he looks like a peasant.

He says Kofi Kingston won’t be in the Royal Rumble but he will.

    8:40pm

WE'RE RESTARTING THE MATCH I GUESS

This match got restarted during the commercial for no reason other than the heels were sad they lost. How you can screw this up on the biggest wrestling show in the world is beyond me.

Nia Jax fought all the babyfaces for the heat. Things broke down as people started hitting big moves. Charlotte and Evans ended up on the outside and Evans ran away. Nia Jax hit a chokeslam where Dana Brooke’s head BOUNCED off the mat and then hit a legdrop for the win.

    W O W! 🤭#WWERaw @NiaJaxWWE pic.twitter.com/baRWit9NOM

    — WWE (@WWE) January 26, 2021

This was one of the worst segments in the history of Raw. This was the dirt worst of wrestling. Holy smokes.

    8:31pm

Charlotte Flair, Dana Brooke & Mandy Rose def. (CO) Shayna Baszler, Nia Jax & Lacey Evans

Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke both grapples around with Lacey Evans until they tagged in Charlotte. At this point, Evans ran away and tagged in Shayna Baszler. We got some of the match we were just watching as Charlotte chopped and slammed Baszler.

    .@QoSBaszler didn't beat the 10-count!#WWERaw @MsCharlotteWWE pic.twitter.com/PSsZwvU24t

    — WWE Universe (@WWEUniverse) January 26, 2021

The babyface team all beat on Baszler and then Charlotte pulled Baszler outside. They all kinda had a staredown and then the referee just counted Baszler out. This had to be a botch because this whole thing was a mess and it looked like Baszler legitimately got counted out.

    What an absolute disaster.

    8:20pm

Charlotte Flair def. (DQ) Shayna Baszler

Charlotte clotheslined Shayna Baszler in the ropes, hit a big boot and Nia Jax hit a leg drop for the DQ in about a minute. Well, that is absolute pants.

A first-time ever match, and @MsCharlotteWWE looked to make QUICK work of @QoSBaszler! #WWERaw pic.twitter.com/0Sy8r3t3QB

    — WWE (@WWE) January 26, 2021

After the match, Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke came out to save Charlotte and then Lacey Evans came out so this will probably be a six-woman tag match when the commercial is over.

    8:16pm

    Charlotte backstage

Charlotte says she can perform under pressure and tonight she takes Shayna Baszler’s invisible crown. She says she will defy the odds on Sunday by defending her WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship and then win the Royal Rumble.

She also dismissed what is happening with Lacey Evans and her father.

    8:10pm

Drew McIntyre and his sword are back

Drew McIntyre says he feels great to be back and he is so thankful for all the well-wishes he has received from fans. He said he was lucky with his symptoms but he is 100% and will be 100% this Sunday.

He dedicated his match this Sunday to everyone dealing with COVID. He then ran down the career of Goldberg and said he will still be WWE Champion. At this point, he was interrupted by The Miz and John Morrison.

Miz and Morrison were very annoying but essentially said that at the Royal Rumble one of Goldberg or McIntyre will be a sitting duck. This will allow The Miz to cash in and become WWE Champion.

    SPEAR! CLAYMORE! How's THIS for a #RoyalRumble preview?omit_script=1!#WWERaw @DMcIntyreWWE @Goldberg pic.twitter.com/4vpXVZumYL

    — WWE (@WWE) January 26, 2021

Goldberg then came out and said “you, me, Sunday. You’re Next”. Miz and Morrison then tried to goad them into fighting each other but instead, they grabbed Miz and Morrison, threw them in the ring and hit a Claymore and Spear.

McIntyre’s promo was great but the rest of this was just whatever.

    7:30pm

    Welcome!
