Bobby Lashley & Omos contract signing

The last ten minutes of the go-home Raw for Hell in a Cell (which is still made up of primarily Raw matches) was this relatively underwhelming contract signing. We’ve already seen Bobby Lashley and Omos tossing furniture around a variety of times, so there was not a lot of excitement for me at least.

Someone out there really loved it and I’m happy for them!

If Cody and Seth closed and the show ended on that staredown, perhaps I would feel differently.

Have a good night!

Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley

A zippy match between Liv and Rhea with Damian Priest and AJ Styles at ringside.

Later we’ll get a run in save by Finn Balor after Priest looks like he’s about to attack Liv and she gets the chance to sneak up to the top rope while Ripley gets her wits about her, seeing Styles and Balor but not Morgan who takes flight to get in a big stomp before the three faces stand tall to end the segment.

Ali Promo Backstage

Ali is in back talking to Bert (Kevin Patrick) giving a passionate promo about Hell in a Cell when he’s smacked from behind by Theory who takes another selfie with him.

Theory plays a great d**k and Ali is a delight and I do hope he doesn’t succumb to the hometown curse and manages to win Sunday!

Riddle & Nakamura vs. Usos

Riddle and Nakamura team up to take on the Usos in a fun, high flying match with the stipulation that they need to win to get a future shot at the tag team championships – with a massive RKO off the top rope for a fiery win. Riddle is so convincingly sad about Orton, I fully understand this storyline emotionally. I’m here for it!! Riddle avenging his partner all the way to the Head of the Table!?

Ali vs. Ciampa + Ali vs. Theory

Ali and Ciampa have a zippy match with Theory on commentary until he interferes in the match, getting the DQ win for Ali and telling him why wait for that championship match? With Theory giving Ali the commercial to recuperate from his beat down, there’s a second match for the United States title!

Theory beats Ali handily, and takes selfies but is interrupted before he can leave.

Adam Pearce comes out and tells Theory that Mr. McMahon was so impressed by him that he made him another, fair match, for Sunday at Hell in a Cell! and says it in a faux-Vince voice, it was unintentionally funny.

Miz TV with Street Profits

Miz talks about Miz and Maryse, Street Profits are great, appreciate their banter.

24/7 shenanigans break out as Dana Brook is pinned by Tamina and the NEW 24/7 champ Tamina gets a smooch from Akira Tozawa who then rolls her up and pins her to become the NEW 24/7 champ before scampering away!

Fun segment!

Doudrop vs. Alexa Bliss

Fun match between these two, still don’t really get the Alexa Bliss character but I’ll let it play out (we are 20 weeks removed from the first therapy session vignette…)

When Doudrop misses a bomb off the rope, Bliss hits a Twisted Bliss off the top rope and pins Doudrop clean for a fast win.

Countdown to Cody is OVER!

The countdown to Cody is over! Here’s Cody! Doing Cody things! He talks about Dusty but says he won’t say his name, so the crowd starts chanting it.

Seth Rollins emerges from the crowd and cuts a savage promo back to Cody, telling him twice – “I don’t like you and I don’t want you here.” He tells him that as the pandering from Cody continues, the cheers for him get louder. He lands a couple of fun lines taking jabs at AEW (“you and your little friends tried to tear down everything I built” and “you don’t get to take a sledgehammer to the throne then come back and try and take the throne from me!”)

Cody wonders what stops him from jumping the barricade and getting this going right now and… anarchy in the arena ensues. Cody and Seth crash through a barricade back to ringside, they get pulled apart, and then they brawled again. It was fun.

Rollins ending the segment screaming at Cody “You’re going to hell!” was a nice touch.

KO & Alpha Academy vs. Ezekiel & Mysterios

Honestly, any combination of KO & Alpha Academy + anyone is my favorite angle of the night almost every week.

Time will tell but this was a fun one!

Bianca Belair vs. Asuka

The show kicks off with Big Time Becky Lynch welcoming us to WWE Raw and describing her road to Hell in a Cell so far. Explaining that she intended to give Asuka the WWE Raw Women’s Championship when she was pregnant so that Asuka could have it until she came back and then she could reclaim her title and everything would be great but ASUKA messed it up. This brings out Asuka, which brings out Bianca.

Bianca is ready to fight and settle this, she isn’t complaining it is a three-way on Sunday at Hell in a Cell, she’s just ready to defend HER championship title.

To avenge the kick to the face from last week Bianca will be taking on Asuka – next!

Also, I’ve seen sassy things on Twitter but I think Bianca is even more fun and fluid on the mic as she’s become more comfortable – come at me bro!

A good match ensues with Becky being very amusing on commentary, including saying she is a wizard and even hops in to attack both women after their match.
