WWE Raw Live Results – November 5, 2018

04:04am

Drew McIntyre def. Kurt Angle

McIntyre managed to gain the upper hand for a short while until a burst of German Suplexes get Angle back into the match.

The Olympic gold medalist goes for another Angle Slam, but Drew evades and quickly strikes with a Claymore kick. Angle struggles to get back to his feet, and McIntyre just teases the ‘American Hero’ because he knows Angle simply can’t compete.

McIntyre screams “you’re an embarrassment” in the face of a defenseless Angle, but Kurt manages to turn the tables on the cocky Scot and locks in the Ankle Lock.

Drew powers out though, and hits Angle with his own Angle Slam, before adding even more insult to injury by locking Kurt in an Ankle Lock and forcing the Hall of Famer to tap out to his own submission.

That was emphatic.

03:52am

Angle looks to get an advantage by jumping Drew before the bell even rings.

He hits an Angle Slam early on but McIntyre manages to roll out the ring as we head into a commercial break.

03:43am

Bobby Lashley def. Finn Bálor

This match started with Bálor on top, only Rush trips him, allowing Lashley to take the initiative.

Renee Young called Rush a “little twerp” in this match, which I found particularly amusing.

This was very much a case of power vs. speed, as Bálor did his best to avoid the strength of Lashley.

Rush distracts Bálor as he set up for the Coup de Grace, but the Irishman responds with a Baseball Slide to the ‘Manager of the Hour.’

The distraction allows Lashley to hit his finisher and pick up the win, though.

Drew McIntyre makes his way to the ring, and after a stare-off with Lashley, helps Bálor to his feet in a tremendous act of kindness… and then nails him with a Claymore.

Up next, it’s Drew McIntyre vs. Kurt Angle in the main event! If Angle wins, he becomes captain of the Raw Survivor Series team.

03:29am

Baron Corbin is just about to get in his car and leave the arena as he is met by Charly Caruso.

Corbin announces that Angle will be taking on Drew McIntyre tonight, not Corbin himself, before he quickly jumps in his car to escape the wrath of Strowman.

Up next, it’s Lashley vs. Bálor, and Lio Rush doesn’t have a microphone, which I’m sure many are pleased to hear.

Oh never mind, he grabs one and says he’d rather be in Liverpool. Lio Rush is my new favorite.

He does the typical “look how big my man Bobby Lashley is” shtick, as Lashley shows us his bottom because it’s really hench or something. This invites chants of “boring, boring, boring” from the crowd.

Finn Bálor makes his entrance soon enough and we’re set for action.

03:19am

Nia Jax def. Ember Moon

Ember Moon starts the match hot, but Jax’s power game becomes too much and she takes a dominant position.

Moon tries to launch a brief comeback, but she had no chance as Jax is just too much.

Jax misses a leg drop as the former NXT Champion manages to roll out the way, and a few strikes from Ember look to get her back into it.

Once again though, it’s simply not enough and a Samoan Drop from Jax earns her an emphatic win.

Much like last week though, Tamina comes to the ring to confront the ‘Irresistible Force.’ However, instead of fighting each other, Tamina hits Ember with another Samoan Drop as Jax watches on.

Tamina then puts Moon in a Boston Crab, allowing Jax to launch a further beatdown on the ‘War Goddess.’

It seems Jax and Tamina have formed a very destructive alliance.

Up next, it’s Finn Bálor vs. Bobby Lashley… again.

03:05am

Ronda commends Lynch on her Evolution Last Woman Standing match against Charlotte Flair, and acknowledges that she does respect the ‘Irish Lass Kicker.’

Rousey does emphasise though that we shouldn’t mistake this respect for weakness. She calls herself a “natural-born killer,” before delivering an impassioned promo about how she is the best female athlete in the world.

The Raw Women’s Champion delivers a fantastic final line:

“You may say that you’re ‘The Man,’ but I am the ‘Baddest Bitch on the Planet!'”

However, she is cut off by Nia Jax, who is obligated a championship match after she won the Battle Royal at Evolution. She reminds Rousey that she will be waiting, before Ember Moon also makes her way into the ring, for a match against Jax herself.

03:00am

Kurt Angle tells Charly Caruso that he knows he has what it takes to beat Baron Corbin tonight to become Raw‘s Survivor Series team captain.

Speaking of Survivor SeriesRaw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey is now making her way to the ring to address her match against SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.

I am so excited for this match.

02:53am

Elias def. Dolph Ziggler

Ziggler largely takes the initiative throughout that one, and every time Elias looked to be launching a comeback, the ‘Showoff’ manages to regain the upper hand.

Dolph hits a ZigZag, but Elias, who has the crowd very much on his side here, manages to get his foot on the rope at two, and he manages to land the Drift Away to pick up the win.

That match probably went a little bit long, but the crowd were excellent throughout, and that’s a pretty big win for Elias.

Well played, Manchester. That’s a sentence I never thought would come out of me.

02:43am

We’re at a stalemate into the commercial break in this one, as Ziggler dodges an Elias elbow drop leaving both men down in the ring.

This has been a very solid match, and the Mancunian crowd is very into it, singing about 18 different variations of “Walk With Elias.”

Marvelous stuff.

02:33am

Elias says he talked with Liam and Noel Gallagher earlier, and if he performs his song about Dolph Ziggler, they will reunite.

Elias is partway through his song, when Ziggler challenges him to a match.

The songsmith replies “all you had to do was ask,” and it looks like we’re set for Elias vs. Dolph Ziggler.

Very nice indeed.

02:30am

Dolph Ziggler comes to the ring, and addresses his World Cup final loss to Shane McMahon at Crown Jewel.

Ziggler claims there was a conspiracy against him, and that the referee was clearly showing favoritism to SmackDown.

OH MY GOD YES ELIAS IS HERE!

He’s now playing Seven Nation Army as the Manchester crowd serenades him with chants of “OHHH WALK WITH ELIIIIAAASSS!”

I never thought I’d agree with Mancunians, but I do here.

02:28am

Charly Caruso asks Baron Corbin why he’s running away from Braun Strowman, because that’s not an obvious answer at all.

Corbin says he’s more than up for a wrestling match, but just doesn’t want to be ambushed backstage by the ‘Monster Among Men.’

Strowman then bursts in and batters all the security guards again, but Corbin manages to escape once more.

02:20am

As AOP make their way up the ramp, Dean Ambrose emerges through the crowd, joins a beaten down Rollins in the ring, and says:

“You wanna know why I did what I did?”

He then nails Seth with a Dirty Deeds, making his way back up the ramp and backstage still with no explanation.

02:16am

AOP def. Seth Rollins (c) – Raw Tag Team Championships

Despite the best efforts of Rollins to fight his way to an upset, and of course a couple of compulsory Suicide Dives, the power and numbers advantage of AOP is too much for him to handle.

As Drake Maverick distracts the referee, AOP prevent a Curb Stomp. The ‘Architect’ still manages to land a Frog Splash though, but Rezar kicks out at two.

Another Curb Stomp attempt is countered by Rezar, and AOP land the Last Chapter to put Rollins away and become Raw Tag Team Champions!

02:06am

Rollins makes his way to the ring with his IC Title and both Raw Tag Team Titles, remember despite the two completely hating each other nowadays, he and Dean Ambrose are still the champions.

Rollins says that Corbin’s act of helping Brock Lesnar win the Universal Championship at Crown Jewel, calling it an insult to Roman Reigns and the fans.

The ‘Kingslayer’ is about to address Ambrose regarding the Tag Team Title situation, but acting GM Baron Corbin appears on the titantron, announcing that AOP will challenge for the Raw Tag Team Titles right now.

It goes without saying, Seth’s partner is nowhere to be seen. This is a handicap match. Rollins vs. AOP for the Raw Tag Team Titles.

01:55am

Apollo Crews def. Jinder Mahal

Jinder locks in a rest hold, Crews gets out of it, and wins with a standing Moonsault.

That’s it.

Mahal was WWE Champion for about six months in 2017.

Sometimes wrestling confuses me. Absolutely pointless.

More importantly, it seems Seth Rollins is heading to the ring in search of answers from his former Shield brother Dean Ambrose.

01:52am

Sorry to disappoint you, it’s not HBK… it’s Apollo Crews.

Jinder Mahal vs. Apollo Crews.

Oh boy, I cannot wait.

01:50am

Up next, it’s Jinder Mahal taking on… someone.

They’ve decided to play a recap of DX vs. Brothers of Destruction from Crown Jewel in the middle of Mahal’s entrance.

I guess Mahal’s taking on HBK tonight then, right?

01:43am

Bayley eventually manages to make the tag to Natalya, who looks to have the match won until Ruby Riott breaks up a pinfall attempt.

Natalya has the Sharpshooter locked in, but Ruby Riott on the outside snaps Jim Neidhart’s sunglasses in a disgusting act of disrespect.

The Riott Squad then make their way up the ramp abandoning the match, leaving Natalya in tears at ringside, being consoled by Banks and Bayley.

01:36am

After Liv Morgan works over Nattie for a while, a hot tag to Banks who wipes out the entire Riott Squad, turns things in the Boss’ team’s favor. She locks in the Bank Statement before Ruby breaks it up.

Bayley then makes the tag, diving out the ring onto the entire Riott Squad, but Ruby dodges and hits an STO to regain the upper hand.

The Riott Squad are now once again in control into another commercial break, working over Bayley and preventing the ‘Hugger’ from making a tag.

01:28am

Natalya looks to pick up the win early with the Sharpshooter on Ruby Riott, but Sarah Logan breaks it up, slowing the pace of the match down after a fairly chaotic opening.

The Riott Squad are in control of the opener into the commercial break.

01:22am

The six-woman tag match is indeed about to kick off, with Natalya donning her father Jim Neidhart’s sunglasses to give her good luck.

01:19am

Corbin reminds us all how Survivor Series works because it’s the one time of the year that Raw and SmackDown go head-to-head in direct competition (except no it’s not).

Corbin confirms that Universal Champion Brock Lesnar will take on WWE Champion AJ Styles, and Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey will take on SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.

The acting GM then announces that Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman will all be a part of Raw‘s men’s Survivor Series team, captain by Corbin himself, though he won’t actually be competing himself.

Corbin then declares that Raw women’s team captain Alexa Bliss will choose all members of her team. Bliss then joins Corbin in the ring and proclaims that she too won’t actually be competing in the Survivor Series match.

She then announces an Evolution rematch for tonight pitting the Riott Squad against Sasha Banks, Bayley and Natalya (how creative!).

The ‘Goddess’ is about to announce that that match will kick off right now, but is interrupted by former Raw GM Kurt Angle. The Olympic gold medalist tells Corbin that he wants to compete at Survivor Series… but Corbin advises him to take a “permanent vacation.”

Angle proposes that he and Corbin have a match tonight, wherein if Angle wins he can compete at Survivor Series AND be team captain. Corbin accepts the match, before allowing Bliss to continue with her announcement that the six-woman tag match will start right… BRAUNNNNNNNNNNNN.

Oh very dear.

Strowman storms to the ring, smashes through security before Corbin manages to escape. The rest of the roster try to prevent Strowman getting to Corbin before they all just end up brawling with each other because that’s what tends to happen in the wrestling I suppose.

It seems the narrative of tonight is going to be Strowman trying to hunt down Corbin and utterly obliterate him. Should be very fun indeed.

01:04am

Raw opens with all roster members lined up on the stage, with acting GM Baron Corbin making his way to the ring, which just so happens to be surrounded by security guards.

Maybe it has something to do with Corbin attacking Braun Strowman before the latter’s Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel, which he of course ended up losing.

Despite Raw emanating from Manchester, England tonight and therefore being taped hours in advance, we are here from the usual start time to cover the official airing of the show live!

We are just three days removed from the absolute insanity that was WWE Crown Jewel, so maybe we’ll get some sort of explanation for what went down on Friday. I am still sat here questioning my life after watching that show. Tonight’s show kicks off the road to Survivor Series, with just under three weeks to go until the one night of the year that Raw and SmackDown go head-to-head in direct competition (apart from all the other nights of the year that Raw and SmackDown go head-to-head in direct competition).

This coverage will start off spoiler free, but if you fancy a cheeky gander at full spoilers for the show, you can do so by clicking here. Alternatively, WWE has chosen one specific spoiler to announce before the show airs, but I’m not going to be personally responsible for ruining anyone’s day, so view that at your own discretion by clicking here.

Nonetheless, here’s a spoiler free look at what’s in store for us tonight:

  • The fallout from Brock Lesnar squashing Braun Strowman to become two-time Universal Champion
  • Ronda Rousey to respond to Becky Lynch’s SmackDown promo ahead of their clash at Survivor Series
  • The Riott Squad vs. Sasha Banks, Bayley & Natalya… Again… Yay
  • Finn Bálor vs. Bobby Lashley… Again… Double yay
  • What will happen between Raw Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose?
  • Will we learn more about last week’s confrontation between Tamina and Nia Jax?
  • No Byron Saxton
