6:30pm

New Day vs the Usos

Backstage with Roman, Adam Pearce is being awkward and Roman tells him it doesn’t matter who he chooses for Roman to face, he’s not worried about anyone then kicks him out because he’s trying to watch his cousins’ match.

Back to the ring, poor New Day is doing that awkward WWE thing where quite literally six minutes after the entrance music began they’re still just in the ring dancing.

The match finally gets going and then goes to a commercial break after a very short exchange. Back from break, the teams are brawling in front of the entrance

Woods hits a beautiful tornado DDT for a near fall on Jey, no dice. A pop Samoan drop from Jimmy on Woods leads to another two count. Continued back and forth action including all possible street fight random items, garbage cans, etc.

Woods finds a spartan costume under the ring and puts on a steel helmet and absorbs a kick to the face with no ill effect. The crowd is chanting “we want tables!” and New Day obliges. With a table set up in the corner, Jey tries to get Kofi and instead is hit with a Trouble in Paradise and nearly takes the pinfall but Jimmy interrupts to count for the save. Woods to the top rope, takes stereo kicks from New Day, next Kofi takes the kicks then Usos set up the table in the middle of the ring.

Kingston takes a 1D through the table and takes the pin, Usos are still Tag-Team Champions.

Backstage there’s a knock on Roman’s door… it’s Seth Rollins with the show ending on his wonderfully obnoxious laugh.

6:20pm

Happy Talk with Happy Corbin

Madcap Moss is pretending to be Drew McIntyre. It isn’t funny.

“There isn’t one single person who is like, yeah this is good.” – Pat McAfee

The Viking Raiders come to the ring for a scheduled match with Moss and Corbin.

Back from the break, the match is in progress. Despite getting to see a little Raiders offense, the match ends in a neck breaker from Moss on Erik before the pinfall victory for Madcap Moss and Happy Corbin.

5:53pm

Charlotte vs Naomi

The Rumble package was introduced by Charlotte who afterward announced she would also be entering so she can win and then choose her own opponent to headline Wrestlemania but is joined by Naomi who wonders why she would be waiting for the Rumble, Naomi is here right here, right now! Naomi slaps Charlotte and they will have a match after the break!

Naomi and Charlotte have a solid match that is interrupted multiple times by Sonya Deville who continues to change the match stipulations in Charlotte’s favor (before she can get counted out, DQ) which ultimately ends in a Charlotte victory and Sonya announcing Naomi as the loser.

Michael Cole fully acknowledges we still have no reason for why Sonya goes after Naomi.

Women's Royal Rumble Announcement

Charlotte is here to introduce a package about this year’s female entrants at this year’s Royal Rumble – breaking Bella Twins news!!! Returning names also included Lita, Summer Rae, Michele McCool and Mickie James!

Sami Zayn vs Rick Boogs

Before the match we see Sami Zayn and Johnny Knoxville backstage. Knoxville’s Royal Rumble future is so bright he cannot remove his shades.

This Rick Boogs entrance is incredibly entertaining to me… but there’s no way he’s really playing that guitar right? McAfee is going nuts on top of the announcer’s desk with his own air guitar performance over Michael Cole’s head. It was a lot.

The match kicks off; Boogs overhead throws Zayn out of the ring and then does some more awesome air guitar jamming on the way into the commercial break.

Zayn gets distracted by Shinsuke Nakamura on the outside of the ring before getting rolled up by Boogs who gets the pin for the win. 

As Sami is turned around in outrage, Johnny Knoxville sneaks out and into the ring behind Sami, scoops him up, and “eliminates him” over the top rope after which it is announced that he is now qualified for the Royal Rumble!

The graphic on the screen shows already declared entrants still as Austin Theory, the Street Profits, Rey and Dominik Mysterio now plus Knoxville.

5:12pm

Brock and Roman to start the show!

Roman makes his way out to the ring, acknowledge him!

Brock does his own introduction which Paul Heyman compliments and he goes on to fully mock Roman’s “Acknowledge me” to his face. Brock says he got a championship at Day 1 so he has what he wants and Roman is still champ so they both got what they wanted… let’s give the people what they want! Champ versus champ!

Roman replies that this is his show, he does things on his own time, and “I don’t do business with people who do business with trash like Paul Heyman” to which Heyman responds, “how can you talk to me that way!?” and gives a faux tearful speech that is reminiscent of a teenage breakup.

Brock yells, “Shut up Paul!” to which Roman says, “No, don’t cheer that! Don’t talk to him that way.” (I mean you just called him trash Roman…)

Brock gets back in his face and says “Or what?”

Paul interrupts to tell Brock not to talk to Roman like that, Brock tells Heyman to shut up again and Roman superman punches him knocking him down and Reigns leaves the ring with Brock holding his jaw.

Heyman and Lesnar are back together...

… and they made it Monday Night Raw official, so you know it’s serious! What does that mean for Roman Reigns and the Bloodline?! We’ll find out tonight on SmackDown!
