Welcome to WrestleTalk’s live coverage of WWE SmackDown. Tonight’s WWE SmackDown is set to have more Tribal Chief and we should get some follow up from Kevin Owens. Last week, Owens and Reigns were supposed to be joined by a current NXT star, but it appears that has either been delayed or dropped.
It appears WWE is having some trouble making up its mind about what is going on tonight’s show. As of 7:20 pm EST, they had not updated WWE.com with the lineup for tonight.
We are supposed to get an Intercontinental Championship match between Apollo Crews and Big E. WWE just announced that tonight’s main event will be a Number 1 Contender’s Gauntlet Match featuring Baron Corbin, Rey Mysterio, Daniel Bryan, Sami Zayn, and Shinsuke Nakamura.
WWE has updated the card for tonight:
- SmackDown Gauntlet main event to determine who challenges Universal Champion Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble
- Apollo Crews to challenge Intercontinental Champion Big E
- The Street Profits take on Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode in a SmackDown Tag Team Title Match
